The product I purchased was supposed to fit between a sinktop and the wall, and I didn't expect it to be this narrow or deep. Due to its wide size, it was too wide to fit in the narrow opening, and I had to use a small screwdriver and a pair of needlenose pliers. However, I have saved it for the eventual need in the shower base, where it will be able to reach the place I need it. I wish this had worked for my needs, but I think it would actually work for the eventual need in the shower base. It is true that this tool loses its edge very quickly, as discussed in other comments. I got a dull finish from trying to fit it between the sinktop and the wall and then fitting it into the sinkhole. Furthermore, I was using a caulk softening product. The caulk I was attempting to remove was indoor/outdoor caulk, and it was very tough, as I mentioned. would think that this method would be more appropriate for caulk meant for use in a bathroom, which would be a lot softer to start with.
The reason I chose this rating is because the product lost the sharp edges after working with it for a while. In addition to the design of a double head, it was also easier to pull the tool when you weren't able to push. If you have a short or small job, this might be okay, but for a long job, this isn't the best solution.
A new caulk was needed during a recent renovation of my mother's bathroom, but before the new caulk could be installed, I had to remove In my case, I needed the help of the HOMAX 5855 CAULK REMOVER to complete the With the tool, I was able to get rid of the old caulk lining the tub fairly easily. It was difficult to get into some of those harder to reach corners with the HOMAX 5855 CAULK REMOVER since it was so large. an item that has been used once is no longer fit for continuous use after the first use. I had to use the tool only for the purpose, and that was it. Additionally, you can buy it for a cheaper price at a home improvement store or a box store than.
The first time. very well, but if you've got decade-old pictures you might want to avoid doing this This is the same caulking that I use, but this one is one-time use A tool that is used on an as-needed basis. One of them (four beads) had caulk on it, so I removed it from both of them. A screwdriver was necessary to complete the task. You may want to purchase several if you have a large job to do. The price of this item is nearly two times higher on Amazon than at WalMart or Lowe's. Edited to add The light has been shining on me for a long time. You will need a nice scraper if you go to the painting section. You may find that a scraper is more effective depending on the task.
A previous showr door had been removed, so I bought this tool to remove old caulk from it. The bottom edge of the panel broke within 10 minutes, and while using the corner edge, it broke I too and the other reviews noted that the edges do seem to get dull pretty quickly and that I had to give up trying to fix the broken edge before it could be fixed. After returning to the store, I bought a small, flexible putty knife, which worked great and allowed me to remove the piece with minimal mess and damage.
Plastic is too cheap and the blade is too dull. It is not possible to scrape plastic with a scraper. Plastic is soft and can be trashed after just a few minutes of use because it becomes dull after a short time. Using a razor blade is the best option.
