Questions & Answers

When used outside in a cold climate (20 degrees F or lower), will it work?

In other words, if the temperatures are below 20F, you can use it. To make your sections as wide as you need, you should divide them so that only those sections are needed. In order for it to stay in place, you need to push it into the space or into the crack.

The weather is starting to warm, will it be easy to remove the blanket?

My favorite part about this stuff is that it gives me chills! Winter can be the perfect time to apply it, and spring can be the perfect time to remove it. The strips are so cheap, but I have also saved thicker strips for reusing Afterward, when I need to use them I store them in a baggy and place them out of the way in places such as a cellar window where I am less worried about the patched appearance. Considering the price, you simply cannot beat this stuff!

The fifth square is five by five. The sum of 8 and 1 is 8. Are they 2 inches long? In comparison to the photo or the length of a 45 foot roll, these dimensions are minute to none. Do you know what it is?

A roll of caulk has 8 separate strings that are rolled over and over again, but joined together as if they were licorice. There is a lot of it, and I have a roll of 90 feet. It's a little tough to work with an 1/8 of an inch diameter x 90 feet long string, but it works.

The bricks of my chimney are stepped up, but the vinyl "j" channel is straight, so exposed triangles are visible on the outside. What do you think of this ?

This may be a good temporary fix but ultimately you should use a sealant designed for roof flashing. I am not an expert or a roofer, but I fear this may not hold for the long run when used on a porous material such as brick.

This method even works for people who notice a draught wherever they As soon as I enter a room I can sense cold air with my nose as soon as it comes into contact with my skin
5/5

There is nothing better than this stuff! What I wish someone had told me before I bought this was the following it's worth $100 compared to $59. To apply this you don't need to have vision. My sight is totally impaired, and I can do this without any help from any site. I feel like silly putty when I hold it. You only have to stick this stuff between the gaps, and the cold draught and noises are gone. There is no need for tape, hairdryer, standing on a chair when you have to reach high places, or anything else to do this. It is also a lot quicker than using plastic to cover the windows. The only thing you need to use is your fingertips to press it where you need The reason I am not able to do anything if I find a draught in my house is because I am uncomfortable. I recognize that this is a sensitive issue for me and I am sensitive to it. My house might have been pressure washed so a bit of this fell at the bottom of my door after the washing. Perhaps a quarter of an inch of the ring came My attention was absorbed by the draft for days until I finally realized what was happening. The only thing I needed to do was use a finger to push it back into the area. There's no hassle in removing it. In case you are renting a house, you can grab hold of it and begin making it move from the room you have it on. It will release itself once you release it. The stuff I just used after owning it for four years still makes me happy after using it just a few times. This is my first review ever, but I think this is important enough because I just used the stuff even though I have owned it for four years. During the winter, it typically gets down to 28 degrees. Even so, it is still chilly outside now, and I still sense a draught when it comes through the bottom of the door. Hence, it makes little difference what the temperature outside is it just matters that I am able to prevent any draughts from entering. Even if it is 70 degrees with just a little breeze, I will shiver outside. When I was doing my homework, this would have been what I would have wanted to read. It is my hope that this also helps you.

This is an easy and fast way to fix cold and leaky windows
5/5

After moving from cold Iowa to relatively balmy Portland, I was surprised to find that I was getting colder and colder once December came. When I tried to warm up my apartment, I had to blast both the baseboard heaters and the two space heaters all the way to 58 degrees fahrenheit. It was difficult to stick and I wore my fingers out trying to work it in place. I also tried caulking all the windows with another cord sourced from my "local hardware store. " I found it to be tough, difficult to stick, and tiresome to work with. The leaks continued even after I tried to seal up 6 windows for 5 hours. The product I bought from Amazon stood out in comparison to the other one and I was able to correct those shortcomings within two days. Since it is softer and easier to mold, it can easily be sealed in cracks that need to be repaired. Unless you have big gaps in your windows, you can either add one line or half the line if they have shorter lines. With this, I am now able to monitor my energy use and I am using about a third less energy when compared to the past. It is right now 70 degrees inside my apartment and I have not turned on the heat since two days ago. It is important to note the following All of my items are purchased and paid for in full.

This is my second attempt After 30 YEARS, I decided to order the stuff since the 10% I had left were a little My original purchase was from an independent hardware store in St Robert, MO in 1988, a store called TapJac, before Amazon was even "a gleam in Jeff Bezos's eye"! A 32-year hiatus and moves to Georgia have fortunately not damaged it In the air Boxed up in a cardboard container for safe storage
5/5

It has served as a "secret weapon among my tools to prevent air and moisture leaks when caulk and foam are no longer available. The following are When I was in post housing in the US Army with lousy windows, I used this to seal the As it could be removed without leaving a trace, it can lead to leaks. If you have a junction box mounted inside the enclosure it's best to seal the holes where wires enter and exit the enclosure. Additionally, the gasket can also be used to make a weatherproof junction box if the original is torn or goes missing. Having been used for 32 years and received 90% of the usage, it has finally begun to dry out. $1 is about what it costs. I threw away the old one and bought a new one since it was fifty more expensive now. The material is similar to duct tape. It is essential.

Fall is the best time to apply! I found out last winter how bad the windows in my crappy apartment were when I saw a spike in my electric bill ($150-$200) Saving my bank account with window insulating film and space heaters was the best thing I did this year
5/5

In order to protect myself against the cold, I added an extra layer of clothing on top of it. There are bugs that get Keeping the cold out through this will look so much better, covering cracks and keeping out the weather! As a rule of thumb, you should apply before the fall because if you wait too long, it might be difficult (but not impossible). I have been using this stuff in a 60F outside and 74F in my apartment, so far it is not difficult to work with.

You'll love this wind blocker for your windows! For the winter, I bought this to put around the drafty window in my old house, and it cut the breeze coming from it almost by My recommendation for those with problem areas is to use this stuff, whether the issue is windows or doors
5/5

I used the caulking to seal the window when it was already cold, and it didn't want to stick to the window frame very But I got out the hair dryer and used it for a minute to heat up the caulk, which helped it become more workable and moldable. What a great idea, I'm sure it is not going to cost me much compared to how much it will save.

Rope caulk length in feet and inches
3/5

As a whole, the rope caulk product was fine. There are 2 inches of rope caulk in each roll. It is 6 feet long, not 45 feet, that the rope caulk of 2 inches has. If you were to cut quarter-inch-wide strands of caulk to get 45 feet, you would need to cut them into 45 equal lengths. It is possible that the advertised 45 foot length is due to the rope caulk being applied As a result of the rope caulk's construction, thin strands of caulk can be created. Don't be misled, as I was, into believing, as I did, that you will receive 45 feet of 2 inch rope caulk when you actually receive only 10 feet.
