Questions & Answers

How well would this epoxy work upon a wooden bowl when used as a food grade filler/finish?

It is food safe, as stated by the company. So far I am very pleased with the product! It was something I was very passionate about! In my experience, it hearens better than other table top epoxies, but you need to be patient and wait at least 24 hours for it to cure (the instructions say 36 hours). My experience with this epoxy has been smooth and it has had fewer air bubbles than other tabletop epoxies I've used. The air bubbles are still present, however. Because it has a thin viscosity, it looks like it will "fill" quite well. Unlike other epoxies, this one sands very easily and has not yet gummed up. With coarser grit paper it polishes well as well. As of right now, everything seems to be going well! the trend continues, I'm going to be using epoxy exclusively from now on!

What will happen if I try to use this one on a surface that does not lay flat. Do you want to be off?

The surface of the water determines its depth. It must be turned consistently a quarter turn every 15 minutes for two hours if it is to keep cups

What level of trust are you capable of? Despite Amazon's claims that it is safe for direct food contact, and also mentions specific guidelines by the FDA, the actual product label contains neither information
4/5

According to the document, HMIS codes 1 and 3 are for health care. You can look it up in the Internet. A brief update More were ordered in 2019 with a label that says "Compliant with FDA specifications for direct food contact for coatings and adhesives. ". They mention "brief direct food contact" on their website and Amazon description. It might be like the 10-minutes thing. You must clean up food spills on the floor according to the second rule.

Don't be foolish
4/5

Most of the wood I use for making wooden mugs and other items is exotic hardwood. In most cases, I seal an object with a product that consists of equal parts resin and I am usually satisfied with the results. As a consequence, I decided to try this 2 to 1 product. It does work, but you should consider a couple of things before putting this product to Because I don't have a flat/level surface, no matter how long I 'turn' the mugs while waiting for it to partially cure, the product always runs leaving a very thin surface along the lip (sometimes no product remains) as well as a very thick Be sure to test before using if you're going to use this.

You don't want to die because of 20 dollars
3/5

I love this stuff a lot, yes it's expensive but keep in mind that it's a lot of epoxy for the price The food is safe to eat. It is essential to find out if the finish of the item you are putting on is that which friends, family, and customers will see If you can't get a flat piece of wood, the piece of mind is worth the extra 29 bucks. I gave it four stars because it has a low viscosity and will take several coats with sanding between to ensure smooth finishes. Using this epoxy to fix a wooden beer mug didn't leak, I could wash it, and I am sure I won't die from it like I might if I had used another type of epoxy I could have purchased.

It does not lay out smoothly, gets dimply and becomes "fish-eyed"
3/5

My purpose for buying this was to have a food grade surface to use in some projects I was working on, however it dimples, ripples, and forms fisheyes when I lay it out. No matter what the surface kind or the preparation, or what the room temperature was, it did this. In the past few years, I've worked with a variety of epoxy resins. The weight is measured on a gram scale, and the For castings, use a vacuum pump and air. Knowing how to mix properly is one of my strengths. However, I have seen this problem occur with water contaminated epoxy, though I doubt that is the case here. It is possible that the manufacturing is faulty, and perhaps someone else out there can confirm this is not always the case.

Epoxy that has a yellow odour
5/5

Earlier this week I contacted Polymer with concerns about the 2nd batch of epoxy I just received, which was even more yellow than the first. There was no issue with that as it was in the right color range. Basically, there is a problem. If you put it on a white tumbler, it will make the white appear They even brought in their "epoxy expert" who's been working for 23 years to confirm this. I find it difficult to believe that epoxy can be accepted for this range if it is pale yellow before it has even been opened.

As if maple syrup were drizzled on something and if you knew what I mean
5/5

These are my go-to products for finishing wooden glasses and coffee mugs. The durability withstands both hot and cold liquids, and the wood is protected. If you know some tricks to avoid drips and runs, you can apply epoxy without having worries. It's like putting maple syrup on something, but if you know what you're doing it works even better.
