It's not easy, but it can be done with a little sanding and grinding.
If the area isn't too large, I believe it would work. This would suffice as a workaround.
This stuff does not impress me. When it got hot, attempting to stop a leak of trans fluid didn't work. On my bicycle, I would not use it.
There isn't a cure, I don't believe. I've gone by the rule of 24 hours of exposure to air. It's slow at first, but once it's done, it's powerful.

In my jon boat, I fixed a leaking rivet. I didn't have any water in the boat on my next trip. It's fantastic! Allow for proper curing time.
This is a great product that worked well on an aluminum boat. We'll see how it holds up, but the application process couldn't be simpler. Preparation is simple thanks to the one-to-one ratio, and the consistency of the material was ideal for clinging to and filling small holes and scrapes. It hardens in a matter of hours and cures completely in 15 hours, allowing it to be used immediately after the overnight setting time.
I was repairing a carburetor on my John Deere tractor when I broke a metal piece inside the float bowl by accident. This epoxy has incredible strength and is resistant to gasoline. The cost of a new carburetor would have been $425. 50 cents for a dab of JB Weld. For 50 cents, you can get a tractor that runs like new. UNEXPENSIVE! And I now have one set of JB Weld tubes that has yet to be opened, as well as another set that is nearly empty for future screw-ups (I mean projects). br>I've already decided to use this epoxy to repair a large metal bird feeder.
I used it on a jon boat and it did exactly what it was supposed to do. I'll keep using it when the situation calls for it.
Despite the fact that the order specifies two packages, only one is delivered.
I used this product to patch some small holes in the bottom of an old aluminum row boat (1/8 inch or less). Some of the larger holes required multiple applications, but the product has held up well so far. It is simple to use and mix. The finish is smooth and hard.
I wish it would cure faster, but it's still the most powerful bond I've ever used! Also, because this JB Weld mixes a little thicker than regular JB Weld, I had to babysit it a little less before it cured.
For repairing wood furniture joints, this is an excellent product.
