Questions & Answers

What if the surface is primed and discolored but neither rusty nor dirty?

It's not true about this product not helping with rust. The zinc in the product will adhere to metal surfaces and prevent rust formation. I sandblasted my brush guard, primed it with rust binding primer, and painted it. The period of time lasted We did the same thing, but before painting we used this product. After four years, we're still smiling. There is no rust on this.

In what ways can this be applied? How about a brush or spray bottle?

It is a brush that you use. At least 10 minutes must pass after the surface has been wetted. Depending on the severity of the rust in the area you are treating, you may need to treat up to 30 centimeters. 'Killing the rust' occurs when you do this, so don't do too large an area at a time. After 10 minutes, do the next area. The area should be kept wet for at least 30 minutes. Make sure to hose off the entire surface and allow it to dry completely. When using a fan, you may want to turn it on. Be sure to completely dry all corners and crevasses before applying for 15 or it won't adhere. Don't rush! Take your time! You may use it once it has dried completely. The application deadline is 15 days from now, so you should submit it by then.

What sort of penetration does this have down in the metal's creases?

While wet, it will flow thickly if you put it on thick. It depends on how large the gap is. is likely to bridge areas of metal that are similar to the crease along the side This may be of some help

If this was mixed down with water, could it be sprayed easily?

Thanks for getting in touch, Robert. Are you asking about Metal Prep PQR-02? Mix all the ingredients down until they form a sprayed solution. Honestly, I wouldn't dilute it, it's far too weak, and you might as well use Kool Aide if you want to dilute it more. In my opinion, it would work just as well if you dilute it further. Nevertheless, I was able to respond to this product by saying that I now use a food grade of phosphoric acid concentrated at 85%. There's nothing that can beat phosphoric acid when it comes to rust removers / converters / converter bottles, whatever you want to call them. If you are using the 85% grade concentration, it MUST Use an old bottle of Windex or 409 to mix up this stuff in, then spray it, as needed. In hardware stores, you can find trigger sprayers that are junk and will not stand up to high and I would mix a couple of ounces of this "high test" phosphoric acid down with 400 or 500 mL of water if you decided to buy some. The acid should go into the water. You cannot have it both ways! If you want to purchase this acid, you can do so on Amazon. sure to protect your respiratory system when using it by wearing a respirator rated for vapors and mists, and of course, wear gloves and eye protection. Can I ask you one more question?

Use of this data is questionable
3/5

It's been a few times now that I've used it, and honestly, I don't know how I feel about it. It is true that it cleans metal from rust and other debris It is prepared as it should be. If you must use water to rinse it, the metal will flash rust as soon as you do. Mild steel and cast iron have been affected by this. As a result, I am back to sandblasting. Only when you are going to paint POR15 (paint over rust) on top of this do I see a way to make this useful. It is important that you are aware of this before.

You should not buy until you know exactly what this is good for! The description is false, do not buy! The Amazon of the world I have never engaged in POR 15 products because I believe the amount of preparation and personal protective equipment I would need would be excessive with a high failure rate
3/5

looked at this description as there isn't much current information on their products elsewhere, and it indicated that this was a non-returnable one, not available on a website. It is toxic as well as nontoxic (HOW?) caustic (what does it look like? There is no such thing. There is no doubt that the label requires the same level of personal protective equipment and workspace preparation as any other phosphoric acid product - Unfortunately it is POR 15, so most people have to worry about peeling in a few days when using it with other paints! Clearly I can't return this garbage, and I have nothing that I want to ruin (as it would, if the POR 15 paint weren't on top of it)! I'm out $35, so I'll have to pay it. It's okay to buy this if you are using a full-time power supply We are working on an POR-15 multicoat system, and have all of the proper conditions and equipment to ensure that nothing goes wrong. In my opinion, it's a bit frustrating to see so many different places on the Internet providing contradictory information from both Amazon and these chemical companies. My Artec sliders and Hefty Fab bumper are now protected by Master Series purchased direct from the company. I am hopeful that this will keep them looking good for several years to come.

Expectations were exceeded by far
5/5

I'm just a gearhead here. I am quick to complain when products do not meet their claims however, in this case, I used a product that exceeded my expectations by a wide margin According to - Our Saab is mostly rust free the only thing that rusts is the frame rails in the front clip and the rear crossmember (which can be replaced). I'm considering a full rear suspension rebuild (if something like that is necessary). In the winter of last year, I found thick flaking surface rust on the torque box joints in the front before putting the Saab back on the road (a part was on backorder). Now, just seven months later, the entire front frame is corroding. Paints claiming to work as "rust converters" are typically scams and do not work in most cases. According to - It is composed of a number of My wife and I did the etching today and agitated the steel brush with it, then cleaned it out and blew off the excess water with a leaf blower. Then we waited 15 minutes for it to dry and went out to check it out. My mind was blown away As I had gently agitated it with the steel brush, rusted areas were either removed down to bare metal, and where rust was deeper, it turned into a black oxide (a patina), and bare metal had been covered in thin but noticeable zinc layer. There is actual value in this stuff. Having removed the rust, I found that the frame is perfectly fine.

Because the rust has spread, I am taking the front end off to treat the sections covered by the bumper and spoiler panels, then I will spray Por 15 is especially useful when you are restoring a bike or car where the metal is in the early stages of rust so that it is still solid. Providing you follow the steps as I did that have been suggested in reviews by people who have experienced great success with it, you will be absolutely blown Saab is not only going to last me for another winter or two, but its owner will probably be able to borrow it for a long time as well. I have an idea on how to address that with a pressure washer, Por 15, and fluid film, which is assuming, of course, that the frame isn't rusting internally as well. Because silver provides more pinhole hole filling capability than black, I selected it as a rust preventer. However, the additional step was unnecessary because I caught the rust early on. You will be pleased with your experience if you follow directions. The metal prep needs to be agitated and reapplied many times, so make sure your parts are completely soaked when you do it. A photo of the front subframe assembly/engine cradle has only been prepared for metal primer coating, no por15 preventer coating has been applied When dry, the patina is black, and when wet it is brown with a reddish hue. As I said, I did not take before shots, but if the rear crossmember is broken (which I have not checked yet), I will take after shots once In addition to silver POR, I will also apply clear POR There is a black POR-15 after that.

Taking so long to ship was not acceptable
3/5

The product worked, I followed the directions as stated on the back and it did green the metal a bit after spraying it on wet, washing it off, and then letting it air dry for about 10 minutes. It can be dried by blowing it. Also, it left behind some drip designs (probably impacted by rust or metal) which I guess is caused by a chemical reaction. It does not matter to me so long as it works. There was only one thing I didn't like about the product - My biggest complaint was that after I bought it, there was no update on the shipping status, so I couldn't see if it had shipped or not. In a sense, it almost felt like an out-of-stock The order had to be placed quickly for a project I was working on, and I would have canceled it if I knew it was going to take too long. In the case of something that I'm doing now, I need it as soon as possible and I don't want it within a month (nearly). Maybe I am the only one affected.

This program does just what it says on the tin
5/5

Follow the directions carefully and it will be easy to use. I had been advised by Caswell that this was needed since I could not fill my tank with drywall screws and shake. As much as I could from the filler hole, I used the provided sprayer to wet the tank, until I had a puddle. I added a little more and continued rolling the tank for 20 minutes, adding more solution every so often. The metal was left with an etched surface that looked like it had been glittered/coated with metallic flakes. In the end, I applied Caswell epoxy after I rinsed with water, and I used a heat gun for rapid drying (no flash rust). I plan to process the part with the Caswell epoxy over the next several days to monitor your progress.

This product is excellent for cleaning metal surfaces and removing rust from them
5/5

For cleaning hardware and small parts as well as removing rust from metal surfaces, this is an excellent product. In addition to removing rust stains from wood and fabrics, it is also effective at removing rust stains from metal. As a result, blood stains can also be removed with it As a result, the iron in the blood is broken down chemically. The process of reducing hemoglobin is the same as that of reducing iron-based hemoglobin There is rust based on copper.

This product does what it says

Preparing my media was a breeze using this software Blasting the auto frame prior to applying a porous coating Then I used $5 H-tube spray to apply it Use the Depot pump to spray a hose and let it hang out to dry for 20 minutes. By using this product, the metal surface was thoroughly etched and left with a matte, chalky, grey finish I assume it is zinc phosphate from the instructions because the finish seems to be bluish. Through the etching of this surface, it is possible to assemble The surface of the metal needs to be properly adhered to 15 for it to stick. It is a must if you plan to apply to the Post Office Over a clean metal surface, apply 15 drops.
