Questions & Answers

Is the tube long enough to seal three sides of a 5-foot tub?

With only one tube, I was able to seal around the base of one toilet. I'd say you'll need at least two tubes in your situation.

When it comes to drying time, how long does it take?

I'd let it dry for 12 hours if it's going to be exposed to water.

What types of plastics am I able to use this with? Will it cause the plastic stand on my television to degrade chemically?

Not sure. It was in my tub when I used it. I'm not sure what kind of plastic my tub is made of, but it did the job perfectly.

Is it safe to use this foam?

I'm not sure what you mean by "safe to ingest" if you mean "safe to ingest if kids get it in their mouths." If that's your question, I'm afraid I don't have an answer for you. This is not a "foam," in my opinion.

For small jobs, this is ideal
5/5

After watching a video, I scraped out the cracked grout with a sharp knife tip, blew the area with a hair dryer for a few minutes, then carefully roll up the end to move the gel up in the tube, like a tube of toothpaste, and squeeze gently from the bottom primarily, to squeeze out a thin line for a few inches, rub in the crack with the tip of your pinky, Using a dry cloth, wipe the surface as soon as possible. Although the grout will remain in the crack, any excess will be wiped away. Work as quickly as possible! Repeat. I worked on a three-foot section behind my bathroom sink. Even though I tried to be careful, it's still a mess. Wear thin gloves, but I discovered that slathering my hands in olive oil and wiping them down with paper towels worked just as well. I thoroughly cleaned the nozzle with a toothpick, replaced the small foil seal, and re-capped it. In an empty peanut butter jar, I kept the tube upright. I'm extremely pleased with myself!.

It turned out that my caulk was defective
3/5

The caulk I received had a flaw. When I first opened the tube, it did not flow smoothly. The caulk's consistency was off in some way. Some of the caulk appeared to be flowing normally, while others had congealed and become harder. I had to throw the tube away because it was a shambles.

Silicone Rubber Caulk is a silicone rubber caulk that can be used to seal joints I chose Dap 00680 Silicone Rubber Caulk over other brands after reading reviews
3/5

However, I wish I had chosen something different and would not recommend it for the following reasons: (1) Because the silicone is in a metal tube, the tube 'crimps,' making it difficult to evenly regulate the flow of the silicone; (2) the silicone is still very'sticky' and 'wet' to the touch after 2 weeks. br>br>8/17/13 Update: It's enough to say that 'this silicone caulking is the absolute, all-in-one solution. ' pits of time' - I'm at a loss for words. I feel qualified to recognize a good product that does what it's supposed to do after purchasing and applying many different brands of silicone caulking in bathrooms, kitchens, and other areas over the years, but this'stuff' is the worst! In addition to the above, the caulking looks strange and isn't like normal (white) silicone: This is referred to as 'glittery. ' The free-market system, on the other hand, The caulking job is almost rendered a waste of time (and money) because flowing silicone is interspersed with'clots of silicone in the tube. ' Finally, Dap 00680 Silicone Caulking has not dried and remains'sticky and wet' to the touch to this day.

It's a good product, but don't expect it to look professional
4/5

If you only need to caulk a small area, this is an excellent option. We used it to keep the bath walls free of mold. The only criticism I have is that it does not flow smoothly, resulting in a bumpy appearance. My husband applied it, and while he isn't a pro, we've used other products in the past (such as a caulking gun) that left a smoother surface.

Do not purchase because the tube leaks or explodes in your hand
3/5

This is a complete waste of time. As I was using it, the tube popped open in unexpected places, and caulk covered my hands. To spice up your Saturday afternoon chores, nothing beats a nice refreshing mineral spirits hand wash.

This Caulk is a Difficult Client! I use this caulk to insulate copper wiring joints in the electrified scale model scenes I build because it's tough and I'm confident in its holding power
5/5

It lasts for years with no disintegration or peeling. I've tried a lot of different materials for insulation and holding properties, but none of them have met my expectations. If my bathtub ever needs to be re-caulked, I know what I'll ask for!.

Meh

This didn't stick very well; I followed the instructions to the letter, and it started peeling off after about a week. I'm broke and won't be buying it again.
