Polyurethane finishes will be scratched by this item. In my opinion, this pad is designed to be applied to metal.

The grit shown in the descriptions does not appear on any of these vsm hand pads. If one does not have this information, how can one choose an abrasive pad?

The GREEN PADS do not work for me. A White Pad is equivalent to a .0000" thick steel wool. A Gray Pad is equivalent to a three mil steel wool, and so on. The color is maroon during the year 2000. The term I'm just thinking of does not equate to grit (as it would in sandpaper). The fine -grained system is sometimes called the coarse -grained system It is extra fine & extra tasty It is very fine. There is only a small difference between the 4"0000" steel wool, white pads and the white tubs of water A sheet of Festool 450-grit paper can be found here.

Does the grey pad correspond to a certain grit of sandpaper?

Steel wool equivalent to 3 "O" is found in the grey pad. Approximately ten ounces of "O" steel wool are equal to one pound of nylon. It is probably close to 200 grit sand paper on the grey pad. You will not find an exact equivalent between the two since they have different functions.

Would this product be able to be re-used if it was washed first?

Rinse them well with water to remove the residue. Their porous nature makes them ideal for holding liquids. Grit decreases as it is used, like that of sand paper. The cutting strength of the pads should not be affected by water.

000 steel wool is replaced by this product. sand the top of a table saw with it and a sanding block to remove minor surface rust. Surface is not scratched while rust is removed.
