The metal shavings from 0000 steel wool can clog magnetic pickups, causing a mess. It is sometimes used to polish frets on guitars, but it can also damage the pickups. Scuff pads are equivalent to this grit, and they can be cut into strips for scrubbing. As I work on the guitars, I use these in order from maroon to gray to white to polish them to a finer and finer level, without any Thank you so much for providing such a useful solution for me.
Where can you find the information you need? I assume white steel wool / 1000 grit is about 0000, but in my experience, grey steel wool / 600 grit is about 0000 or 600 grit The gray part is about 00, the maroon part is about 320 A 400 grit paper is used. It's your call! This is a must-have for everyone who works with wood or makes furniture.
