I bought this for my father as a Christmas present. Back when I was a child 40+ years ago, I had a very large one. In his opinion, it was 11x8" and he stated he enjoyed it a lot. When I discovered it and saw how much he enjoyed it, I was really excited. Once it arrived, I found it to be well packaged. I took it out of the foam and placed it on a flat surface. I was utterly dismayed to find out that the sand inside was solid rock and there was almost no liquid inside. I feared there might be a In any case, it is in a sealed plastic bag and there is no liquid inside. In these pictures, you can see how it looks in different orientations while still in the bag.

As with any sand art, I wasn't certain what to expect The problem is that I love it so much. I was concerned about the glass it's protected in being too cheap (which it is). It's heavy and feels solid. The acrylic mounts that came with this are not being used since I display it on a floating shelf on my living room gallery wall rather than on a wall mount. That kind of process is amazing to watch, and it adds a real special touch This is a reasonable price.

This is probably your kind of toy if you miss the Magic Window toy from the late 1970s. There is fluid inside, so it's not exactly like the toy, but the blue sand will bring back fond memories. Having just completed my first "modern" sand window, I thought I would share it. My original intention was to give it as a gift, but I liked it so much I kept it. I would have bought a slightly bigger frame with a more traditional frame if I knew that I would like it so much. On this one, the clear frame is pretty, but it's a bit difficult to hold it. After opening it, I dropped it about five minutes later from a height of about three feet onto a carpeted slab floor. (There is no NOTE

Too many bubbles interrupt the flow of sand, making it difficult to simply move the sand. There is a lack of security on the stand. The sand does get stuck and you must tilt yourself to make it flow again, unlike any other device on an angle stand where you can flip it. It also gets tiresome to have to keep taking it off and putting it back on the stand because it flows so quickly. A very disappointing experience.

Wham!'s "Magic Window" was one of the first toys I owned as a kid This item looks like what I had hoped it would be. Since the description of this item and the description of many similar items told me that bubbles would be present, I was prepared. My only concern about this toy was whether it would enhance the experience or detract from it in comparison to Magic Windows. There was no problem with the flow of sand in the Magic Window it was smooth, quick, and free While turning the toy, one's eyes looked like they were watching water flowing from side to side. It works by slowing down the movement of the sand through bubbles that have been added to it. I bought this as a gift, but removed it from the package to see how it worked.
