Questions & Answers

How many belts are included with this?

There are both belts included in this package

Dyson DC 14 Animal orange is one of the vacuum cleaners I own. Could you please let me know if this clutch assembly will work with mine? Thank you. I wish you all the best. ?

All DC07, DC14, and DC33 model vacuums should be compatible with this part. If your brush has ceased to rotate, buy this part. It is highly likely that your clutch is damaged, whether the belt is broken or not. In this clutch, you will find belts as well. On YouTube, you can find some good instructions for replacing your Dyson clutch by searching "Dyson" and your model number as well as "clutch" and "Alec."

What would lead me to believe it is the clutch if I lost some power while vacuuming carpet? The car is about 6 years old, but how would I know for certain?

A dirty filter is probably to blame. Both HEPA and canisters are required). I was amazed at the difference when I did mine - I wondered why it was running so erratically Normally, doos do not lose suction after 10 years since they are meant to last a lifetime. It appears they are not miracle machines - Filters do need to be cleaned/replaced from time to time.

In addition to the brush assembly, should it be replaced?

The brush assembly may not always need to be replaced when the clutch is replaced, however, most of the time it is.

This OEM replacement clutch is a fantastic product that is easy to install

was having an issue with the brush bar not rotating when I applied even the smallest pressure to During my research on YouTube and after reading some great reviews and tips on Amazon, I decided to spend the $24 I had saved. You can order a new OEM Dyson DC 14 clutch that comes with both belts for 99 cents. It only took me 20 minutes to put it back together and it worked like a charm. I was very pleased with the fact that I saved myself the expense of having it repaired or buying a new vacuum cleaner as decided not to purchase the belt stretch install tool to see if I could do it myself and it worked by just using a large screw driver to get a hold of the brush bar belt and gently wrapping it around the brush bar grove with a little muscle and patience. By the time I switched my clutch, my old belts were so stretched they were ripped. I have had my Dyson for 12 years, and I have gotten a lot of use out of her. My old belts have stretched out to nearly twice the size of my new ones. Upon realizing that there is more to cleaning maintenance than just cleaning the brush bar when it accumulates carpet and dog hair, I began to think about the other part of cleaning. You might want to take apart the brush bar ends and rod that inserts in the middle as I found that there was also a lot more dog hair in there, so your Dyson will have to work more difficultly and wear more prematurely. It is my hope that anyone else who reads this review will benefit from it.

The 500 dollars I saved helped me to pay off my debts
5/5

Several months ago, my vacuum's suction had been failing at home for more than two years and I had to disassemble it and clean it - it then worked for a short period then stopped Also, our vacuum would not automatically rotate the brush every time we used it. On this site, I was trying to find a new vacuum and scrolled down and saw this After my husband made me promise I would not buy another 500 dollar vacuum, I decided what the hell I would try it. He still couldn't understand why I would want a new vacuum even after we have had the previous for over 8 years. There has been only one issue with our Dyson vacuum, and it was a simple one. The picture I showed was of my old clutch and you can clearly see how worn out the belt is. The picture shows how great the vacuum works after the clutch was replaced. It's supposed to be big on one, but it's supposed to be tight on the other. The above entry saved me over 500 dollars, and I am so glad I scrolled down to find it. And by the way, I bought the belt tool and it really helped a lot! After watching a YouTube video showing how to change the clutch, I simply did the job myself. The videos that show you how to change the inside or something like that are not as effective as changing the whole thing.

A simple and easy fix that saved me money
5/5

Dyson DC14 brush isn't having much power after I had my DC14 vacuum serviced, and I was told it was likely the clutch assembly that caused the problem. In the end, I decided to try doing it myself rather than paying $110 for the repair. I bought a torx screwdriver to disassemble the device, but it was easy to do. This can be seen in the photo of the old belt attached to the motor (see arrow). Also included in the clutch assembly is the belt that drives the brush, so this is a wonderful overhaul for all in all. I had to do some mojo to connect the two new belts since they are very tight. In all, it took me about 45 minutes to fix my Dyson and now it's working like new!.

Get the belt tool if you want to spend an extra $10
4/5

Dyson clutch is a direct replacement for this product. There is one thing that no one mentions when you get new belts it's a PAIN in the rear end to put the beater bar back in place. It seems easy in the YouTube videos I found, but the guys seem to be putting back together the unit with the same clutch and stretching the belt, so it appears There is also a Dyson tool shown in one video, which makes it easier if you know how hard it is to change belts. It would've been worth the extra $10 if I had known how difficult it was to change belts while using new ones. My one star was deducted because of that. Therefore, here are my suggestions on how to change it Purchase a Before you reassemble the machine, you should remove the ends of the shaft and clean the bearings surrounding them prior to installing the beater bar. careful and patient when prying the housing as the plastic is very soft, and there isn't a very good place to pry without damaging.

This is a very difficult component You're going to find it tough to fix this unless you have all the tools in the world
4/5

As the belt around the clutch was torn, the clutch needed to be replaced and I do not intend to abandon the Dyson DC07 at this point since I have already replaced a lot of the parts. what do you think about In my opinion, most people should not attempt this. It is first necessary to guess which torque size should be used. To get into a space just a little bigger than the diameter of a Sharpie marker, you need a long, narrow tube An extension that can be handled but is slim in appearance. Another issue is loosening a screw which is why a drop of penetrating oil was necessary so that the screw would not In order to get to that screw, I had to enlarge the hole in the plastic housing. As for replacing the clutch, that was not a problem, but the belt was so tight that the tool that is meant to "assist" in lifting the belt above the roller actually broke. There was no way it could wear the belt. Also, I snapped off a bit of plastic from the housing, but I tried not to damage anything else A strong airplane glue fixed the problem. My new part is fine and much more than I expected I'm thrilled with the upgrade. But this was so simple that it took me three minutes. It was a one-week repair for me since I had to acquire the right tools and have time to accomplish.

Give your old Dyson a new lease on life! The DC14 is now filled with this information
5/5

As this is my first service for my DC14, I'd like to thank you for your time. There is about a 12 year old model. When I removed the plug from the wall after vacuuming, I noticed that it was warm after the machine was running and screaming when it was running. It worked perfectly when I changed this out! The plug is no longer warming up, so it's draining less electricity now. Then, you have great news! This cleaner is cleaner (I replaced the brush too This is a good thing to do! I don't hear it screaming at me anymore) . To fix this, it is a pretty simple matter. The only thing you need is a flat-head screwdriver, and that should cost you four or five dollars. YouTube is the best source to determine if you are sure A video I watched showed me exactly how to do it in under five minutes. The person in the video did it in less than five minutes! I admittedly took about half an hour, but the person in the video took slightly less.
