The belt is Despite its tightness, it doesn't stay that way. The blades of a lawn mower slow down when the grass is thick.

This drive belt is supposed to be for a 48" Husqvarna mower, but it is too short to fit over the drive and also driven pulleys BEFORE trying to wrap it around various idler pulleys. The opposite is true.
