It's a HEPA filter (high-efficiency particulate air). Particles of various sizes are trapped by it. A HEPA filter must be capable of capturing 99 percent of particles. Particles make up 97 percent of the total. The smallest particle size that can be captured is 3 microns. HEPA filters will also catch particles with a diameter of less than 0. 3 microns, to be precise.

I tried the less expensive model first, but it had so many flaws that I decided to upgrade. It was a coppery gold with a bright sheen to it. PROS: br>br> br>The cord is the same length as my old one (vs. 2 feet shorter)br>br>Where the hose attaches to the canister has metal (vs. all stiff plastic)br>br>The hard floor tool is full size (vs. 1 or 2 inches narrower)br>br>The tools are mostly housed in the canister so the wand and carpet cleaner can stand up (vs. an awkward knob on top of the w ) The crevice tool is on the wanf, but it is out of the way. br>br>The suction is controlled and covered on top of the wand. The other had it on the side of the wand's top, sucking up my clothes. br>br>The pet tool, which is similar to a mini carpet tool, is quite nice. It's what I use on my pet beds, furniture, and other places where a carpet beater won't fit. CONS: br>br> Because the cord's tension is greater than that of the plug, you must unfurl all of the cord you'll need, or the cord will pull out of the wall if you run out and pull the canister too far. It's not always on a straight path, but it's always around a bend. br>br>The lid over the tools is flimsy, and it's easy to catch the hose on it while juggling tools when it's up. br>br>All of the tools fit into a bulky connector at the end of the wand that won't fit under half of my furniture, even if I sit on the floor trying to get it to fit sideways. br>br>The hard floor tool has a shaky wobble that makes it useless on throw rugs; it only works on the pull towards you stroke, not the push away. Almost, but not quite, bad enough to warrant switching tools, which would entail lugging the carpet beater around the house. Oh! It's time for me to use the PET TOOL! br>br>Because the canister is so light, it can be flipped if you pull it by the hose around a corner. Of course, this was done while removing the cord from the wall. All I have to do now is relax. Take several deep breaths. br>br>Overall, however, I'm a picky person who has learned to live with its flaws. When it comes to appliances, I don't hold high expectations these days, but this machine has exceeded them.
These aren't just any off-the-wall ideas. They're Kenmore vacuum cleaner bags, and they should fit just fine. They are far too large to be effective in this capacity.
