As a result, I purchased this because I have mostly wood floors throughout my home with a few rugs. Also, I live with 3 indoor cats, and their fur is a daily battle for me. In between regular vacuuming, I wanted a quick and easy way to get up the cat hair on some of the low pile mats and carpets. Whenever I don't have the time to vacuum thoroughly, this would be something I could grab and use to do a quick once over. In the end, I chose the pricier carpet sweeper after reading all the reviews. The first thing I noticed when I opened it was how tiny it was. Even though it is small, like that of a toy, I don't view that as a problem, in fact I find that makes it that much easier to store and organize. This feels like a heavy unit, not at all cheap. There was no sign of pet hair on any of our carpets and unfortunately, the sweeper was unable to pick it up. As well as standard pile carpets and low pile mats, I used this product. In all cases, the results were the same. In addition to spreading out the pet hair and leaving balled up fur on the carpet, it pushed the pet hair around on the carpet, streaking it across the surface. We pushed harder, but it didn't make a difference, and it shouldn't be so difficult to sweep the carpet on our inside door mat. I have attached a photo of it after using the carpet sweeper.
