Although the product is not inexpensive and at first seem a bit strange, I decided to try it and have to say that its worth the cost ive really enjoyed it and can't believe that it cools your seams down in a flash ; and lets you power you finish jobs within.

I'm not sure how I managed to sew thousands of seams without this tool during my flooring career. If you install carpet for a living and don't have this tool on your van, you're doing something wrong! This is a must-have tool that, after a week or two of use, will pay for itself. Oh, and pattern matching with this tool is a breeze because you can cool and stretch to align patterns without popping a seam! This is a no-brainer.

This is the second time I've used a Seamer Down to quickly remove heat from melted carpet seam tape. This one is impressive, and it does not appear to be as loud as the first.

For 5 stars, it needs a good case

I've been installing floors for 18 years and finally bought one about 2 months ago. It's a great buy and I wish I had done it years ago because it makes everything easier by cooling down the seam behind the iron and allowing me to readjust the rug to perfect seams. The days of hammering roofing nails into the seam to keep patterns in place are long gone. And if you only have a small burner for a closet seam for a one-room job, you won't be waiting 20 minutes for it to cool. The only drawback to this tool is that it requires a hard shell case. It ships in a box and that's all you get with it. I haven't been able to find a toolbox that fits it, so I've been looking at hard shell luggage for it.
