I used to work as a professional carpet cleaner and my husband always told me to never leave cleaning solutions in the carpet because it just attracts dirt in the long run. If you would like a nice fluffy carpet, you would do well to rinse your carpet thoroughly with vinegar water. This will eliminate the soap and prevent the carpet from looking dirty. Moreover, it gets rid of any smell that might be present there, and if you have animals that like to mark, it gets rid of any scent they may have left, which means it is less likely they will mark the same spot again. All in all, I'm glad I got it done.
