It's a lovely shade of turquoise. I filled it with cans and bottles, but I'm still not sure where they go. It's been a week, and the garbage can is nearly full. Is it possible for them to recycle? This 28qt garbage can does not taper very much at the bottom, and only has dimensions available at the top portion of the can for sizing, so it was purchased as an in-kitchen garbage can for a cabinet pull-out drawer that I have. It was too big for my pull-out kitchen cabinet, which has a lower insert (which is becoming more common than the top hang). Due to the size of the box, the cost of returning the item was $56, so make sure it will work before ordering. I've gotten so used to getting free returns on Amazon items that I didn't check first, which is my own fault, but I thought I'd let others know ahead of time.
My family had a lot of trouble with recycling. We didn't want to go down the stairs, open the front door, and then toss a can or bottle into the curbside recycling bin. Our biggest problem, laziness, was eliminated with this item. We can now open the door to the outside world while emptying a gallon of milk, slamming a Diet Coke, or breaking down an Amazon Prime delivery box. br>br>About three times a week, one of the six residents will have to descend the seven steps and deposit the recycling in the bin outside. On an end-to-end basis, it's a game changer. like-the- humans- The level of WallE. Our existence is doomed to be followed by a generation of slackers. It's a blue color. br>br>.
I just needed a small recycle bin to keep next to my garbage can. This is ideal, about the size of a 5-gallon bucket. It can easily accommodate a variety of wine bottles, cans, cardboard boxes, and milk jugs.
This recycling bin, rather than a full-size bin, is exactly what I was looking for. size bin that you'd see in a business, but not so small that it's always full. br>br>I think the price is a little high; it's only a small blue trash can with a white recycle logo painted on it, and it'll cost you around $20 after tax. It appears that $10-$15 is the going rate. Wouldn't 12 be a better choice? br>br>However, I was aware of the cost ahead of time, and I'm satisfied with it for what it is.
The 7 gallon size is ideal for my kitchen's small nook. I keep it next to my regular tall kitchen trash can, which I've also included an image of so you can see how similar they are in size, and I actually recommended it to my best friend because I like it so much. She went out the next day and bought one for herself! We both agree that it's something we'd recommend to our friends and family.
So far, I'm happy with how things are going. This is the type of bin that can be found in most offices. I was tired of sprinting to the garage to empty each bottle and can into the large trash can I take to the curb once a week. Dual bun trash cans are exorbitantly priced and frequently too large for my tiny kitchen. I drink bottled water, and the empties can quickly add up; it appears to be large enough to hold a couple of days' worth of recycling. To keep the bin clean, I rinse all of my soda cans/plastic containers and line it with a grocery store paper bag (since most single stream recycling programs don't allow plastic bags) that I can easily grab and carry to the big bin. br>br>Would have been five stars if I could have had the option of a lid, as many others do.
Other recycling containers have been tried, but getting others and visitors to my house to notice and participate has proven difficult. For my home, I'm glad I chose the well-known blue recycling wastebasket. It may not be to everyone's taste in "decorating," but it does make a statement about my commitment to recycling at home. Fortunately, a sufficient number of workplaces have adopted recycling. It also aids in improving compliance at home. I've tried other trash cans and even labeled them, but this one is the clearest. It's also sturdy and big enough to hold magazines and stacks of junk mail.
