Questions & Answers

flies?

Making a "fly resort" is a simple way to get rid of flies. Take a small glass bowl, fill it with water, and set it aside. Half a bowl of apple cider vinegar should be enough to fill it. It's got to be apple cider vinegar, don't you think? After that, add 2 drops of Dawn liquid detergent to the apple cider vinegar and mix well. Do not combine or shake the ingredients. Using either cling wrap or plastic wrap, make a tight seal around the top of your bowl. Take plastic wrap if you're looking for a quick fix. Tighten a piece of plastic wrap so that a rubber band can be slid over it and held in place. Whichever bowl has the tightest plastic covering. Using a wooden or metal skewer, make the neatest possible arrangement. Using the skewer of your choice, carefully poke a small hole in the center of the wrap. The wrap must be tight and have at least one small hole in the middle. The fruit flies don't need a written invitation to swim at the resort. They'll be swimming on top of the water, which you'll be able to see. If the guest flies are solid on the top of the first bowl, make a new resort to go with the old one; if the guest flies are solid on the top of the first bowl, make a new resort to go with the old one; if the guest flies are solid on the first bowl, make a new resort to go with the old one; if the guest flies are solid on the top of the first bowl See good- Bye, bye, bye, bye, bye, bye, bye, bye They'll have "flewn away" to spend the rest of their lives at the resort!

What is the best way to secure the lid to the can? I tried for thirty minutes and couldn't get it to work. ?

Please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please Before I came here to see these Q, I had the same thought. I found that using a rubber mallet was very effective. That should be implied in the instructions. Once you get the lid on, this is the best kitchen garbage can ever. This can has been in my fiance's possession for at least five years and is still in excellent condition. To keep the lid on, those hinges must be tight. 13 gallon Costco standard Garbage bags for the kitchen work perfectly. However, I believe that the $40 price is excessive. Female (65 years old)

Even if it's locked, I'm concerned that my dog will knock it over and get inside. Will the lid open or fall off if the can is tipped over with the lid locked?

Yes, it's a distinct possibility. This is a can I bought, and my dog has managed to tip it over and get into it. When I got home, the lock was still on, but the lid was open, and yep. Garbage in every direction.

Is there a bucket within this?

The trash bag fits inside the trash can just like any other trash can. BUT. We believe it expands the bag's capacity, which is a good thing!

PROOF FROM THE DOG!   Update: THIS GARBAGE CAN IS A MASSIVE MONSTER! Many people have inquired as to where I obtained it
5/5

It was across the room, with teeth marks and everything, but it was still closed when I got home yesterday! No matter how hard my dogs tried, they couldn't get inside the bag because it was ripped up on the outside. I adore this trash can!br>br>I have a Siberian Husky and an Australian Shepherd, both of whom are DUMPSTER DIVERS! They'd get into any kind of trash every time I returned home. I don't think I've had a trash can inside in at least a year! After a long search, I came across this locking trash can. My dogs have knocked it over and scratched it, but we haven't been able to get any garbage out so far! ONE OF THE BEST INVESTMENTS I'VE MADE IN MY LIFE. Many of my dog-owning friends have inquired as to where I obtained this. And a few of them have already placed orders after seeing how well my work has turned out. This is something I strongly suggest!.

When it breaks, it's a decent trash can, but the warranty process is excruciating
3/5

After 18 months of service, the pedal on one side of the trash can broke, making it difficult to open the lid. It broke on the other side a few months later, rendering the pedal completely useless for lifting the lid. The 5-year warranty was a factor in my decision to purchase this relatively expensive trash can. Given that the trash can stopped working after less than two years of normal use, I expected a quick and painless replacement pedal. br>br>Well, guess what? That's not the case. I attempted to contact customer service, but their website has a clever little trick: after filling out all of the information they requested, I couldn't scroll down to the bottom of the page to click the "Submit" button because the page wouldn't let me. The webpage would bounce back up before I could click the "submit" button when I reached the bottom of the page. It's a clever way to avoid having to honor their warranty, but wait until you see what else this company has up its sleeve. After giving up on finding a useful customer service friendly phone number, I discovered that by connecting my Apple laptop to Apple TV and using my TV screen, I could see AND click the "submit" button. So that was the first hurdle cleared by the folks at simplyhuman. Now it's on to the next. br>br>Next hoop, the company's automatically generated email promised a response in two business days; I didn't get a response until four days later, which isn't a big deal. I've received a response, and my replacement pedal should be arriving soon. Oh wait, despite having all of the necessary information (including my mailing address, the exact part I need, and confirmation from Amazon's website of the product's purchase date and the fact that it is still under warranty), they tell me to order it myself and send me back to the same page where I started to contact them. br>br>And I do it again, this time clearing the next hoop. So that's the end of the story, right? Nope, simplehuman throws another hoop in my way in an attempt to derail my efforts to have their warranty honored. They've forced me to order a replacement pedal for myself, and it's now "out of stock"! Isn't it incredible? When I first emailed for assistance, it was in stock. br>br>As a result, they included a link asking for my feedback on their customer service, and I responded with a detailed email about my dissatisfaction, similar to this one. br>br>No response, still waiting, broken trash can goes without being used, and I go without being used.

It's a bad design flaw, and it's poorly made
3/5

I'm not sure why all of the positive feedback is so positive. It's a bad design: The bottom of the can is narrow, so the lid/top of the can hits the wall, but not the bottom. When you step on the thing, it now pushes the base against the wall, marks the wall with the lid, and interferes with the wall with the lid. I taped a box to the back of the can at the base and it worked perfectly. The second issue is this: the attractive metal lid- A cheap plastic extension is used to attach the opening device to the pedal. thingies. The first one fell apart after only a few months. After that, it took several months for the second. The lid has progressed from partially opening to fully opening, and now I am able to open it with my hand.

Lock is fantastic
5/5

The barrel is quite large. There are a few flaws here and there. Overall, I'm a big fan of this trash can. I bought this to keep my toddler from squandering his toys and other belongings! PROS: br>br> It looks nice, and I like how big it is (50L). It also has a bar in the back to keep it away from the wall. You can lock it with one hand, but you'll need to whack it hard. The stainless steel foot pedal adds a touch of class. CONS: br>br> You can't open it with one hand, so you'll have to buy their trash bags instead. (They're nice, but they're pricey. ) If you don't buy their bags, you MUST, I repeat MUST, secure the bag inside; otherwise, the bag will slide down and you'll be throwing trash between the bag and the can. I tried every brand I could find, but they all ended up looking the same. br>To secure it to the package, I used a small tie that came with one of my son's toys! I upgraded to a fancy velcro strap after that broke. It's easier, and I don't have to tie or untie it. It's not difficult to do; it just takes a long time to put it on and off. br>Another thing that irritated me was the fact that I wished this company produced a smart trash can with a locking system! I could have spent the same money on a "cooler" trash can, but I was out of luck because I needed the locking feature. I don't have any pets, but my daughter, who is around 80 years old, does. It has a score of zero. br>It has, therefore, accomplished its goal! br>NOTE: THIS PAGE HAS BEEN UPDATED. I no longer require the locking feature of this trash can, which was the only reason I bought it at the time. br>I'll say that it's held up well and still looks great, even with two children under the age of four! Because of the cleaners, I add a small pledge to rehydrate. Because of the covid, it's a disinfectant. br>br>Please consider hitting the helpful button if this has been of assistance. This way, I'll be able to tell if it's worth my time to write them!.
