The trash can is approximately 17 inches wide in total.
I was also curious about the extra piece of plastic. The can didn't come with instructions, but I figured out how to attach it to the bars on the inside of the can by looking at pictures on this site. br>br>Until I put that extra piece of plastic in, the "hold open" feature didn't work. br>br>I haven't used this product for everyday use yet, but I think I'll be pleased once I figure out how the extra piece of plastic and the 'hold open' feature work.
Bags from Glad or Hefty are what I use.
I'd guess so, assuming they're constructed similarly to other bags. I simply use a 13-gallon bucket. They're kitchen bags, and they're a perfect fit.

Better Homes and Gardens had an oval can, which I had. The dust and nastiness that accumulated around the can's rim, inner liner, and inside part of the lid was extremely inconvenient and unsightly. And the trash bag kept getting caught or falling when I tried to remove it. This garbage can can be used to: Even after a week of trash, the rims and lid are still clean. The clever design is smooth and tilted, preventing anything from sticking, and spills are easily wiped away. The trash bag completely covers the inner liner rim, so spills and soil are kept at bay. The rectangular shape makes it easier to dispose of large pieces of trash, and the precise inner liner size keeps the trash bag in place without sliding or snagging. The trash can itself is completely enclosed, providing double protection against spills on your floors and additional control over any odors that may escape. There will be no more garbage, and there will be no more unpleasant odors! The lid closes quietly and smoothly, and there is a small red latch inside the can that allows the lid to remain open for a few seconds. Then, on its own, it gradually retracts. It's well-made and incredibly attractive, with the grafite color complementing black stainless steel appliances perfectly. The packaging is excellent, and it comes in two cardboard boxes, one of which is heavily reinforced on the inside and has additional upper and lower cardboard protectors. No dents! It is very reasonably priced, especially given the high level of quality, functionality, and aesthetic appeal. It appears to be much more expensive! Well done, Rubbermaid! Down made a better trash can than any other brand, including the overpriced, inconvenient simple human, and believe me, I looked!.
Ours arrived today, and the first thing you notice on the box is- China-made-goods VERY MISTAKEN. If I had known, I would not have placed an order. It is, however, a lovely garbage can.
It's only a few days until the return window closes. The color is fantastic. The concept is fantastic, but the door closes with such a loud bang. As if it were a jolt. This has only been going on for two days. I can't believe this happened for such a low price. I wanted to get a good piece for our kitchen and I was determined to do so. I was extremely disappointed.
Its quiet opening and closing, as well as its durability and attractive appearance, appeal to me. It's convenient that it can remain open if necessary. The only drawback is that you have to open it with your foot. I wish I could open it from the side/lid because it sits sideways out of my small kitchen, but you can't. I still give it 5 stars because of its sleek design and the gray color, which is a nice addition. It's also larger than expected, but it fits perfectly in my small condo.
Makes taking out the trash and replacing the bag a breeze. When you replace the insert, it sits on a ledge, allowing you to easily insert a bag and then toss everything into the garbage can. It effectively prevents odors from leaking out. It appears to be quite posh. While I'm cooking, the lid stays up, allowing me to easily discard scraps. The only problem is that the lid is sometimes up when I walk into the kitchen. Either that or my house is haunted because it doesn't always go down after someone uses it. Wait, she's still the best trash can I've ever had.
I took a chance on this trash can because there were no reviews, and while the trash can itself is quite lovely, the packaging is so light that it will almost certainly be damaged during shipping. Both the original and the replacement (shipped via USPS and then UPS) were dented and broken at the base. When I pressed the trash can step, it buckled, but I'm not sure if that was due to another broken component. At the end of the day, their shipping packaging needs to be upgraded.
This item appeals to me in every way. The quality is excellent, and it complements my newly remodeled kitchen. Step on and soft close make it simple to use. I like that the trash can is separate and that the trash bag can be added or removed by lifting it out.
This container is attractive and simple to clean and empty. It's a little tricky to use the lock feature. When the lid is fully up, you must really push the pin in until it clicks. In general, I'm very pleased with my purchase.
