It was primarily for the large storage capacity that I purchased it. It was the only one with a nice appearance and a large capacity that I could find. The motion sensor, on the other hand, has become my children's favorite feature, to the point where we've given it giant googly eyes and dubbed it the Trash Monster.

We liked this garbage can at first, but after a year, the motor breaks down. I tried it twice, and both times it failed to work for more than 8 hours. a period of twelve months We spent so much money on it that I feel like it was a waste of money, even though the can is now less expensive (we paid $100), and I still believe it isn't worth it if the motor fails. It's difficult because we have a nice-looking trash can that we have to open with our hands, which defeats the entire "hands-free" concept. Also, sides can dent very easily, but they can be lightly banged out. Unless you really look at it, it's barely visible.

The vast majority of these reviews, in my opinion, were written before the 6-month mark. months spent as an owner Because, until a few weeks ago, I would have given this lovely container 5 stars as well; It's sleek and has a large-screen display. small-capacity, convenient, and makes a great dinner party small-capacity, convenient, and makes a great dinner party small talk. br>br>However, my trash bin's lid stopped working properly about two weeks ago, which is strikingly similar to many of the negative reviews found on this site. It began slowly opening and would only open about 30% of the way after that. My first thought was that my "D" batteries, which were generic, had finally died. It wasn't the batteries, which came as a huge shock to me. br>br>I contacted NineStars but received no reply. I'm hoping they'll stand behind their product, and once I hear back from them, I'll update this review with a resolution. For the time being, I'll leave this review as a cautionary note to others who see the 4-star rating. This unit has a five-star rating, and you may want to buy it. My advice is to save your money. br>br>And the worst part is that my wife will never forgive me for buying a $70 trashcan.

Purchase is not recommended! The quality is terrible. We purchased this unit after seeing it in action at a friend's house. I bought it shortly after the 2016 holiday season. I never imagined that a small motor, such as the one it uses to open a lid, would require three D batteries, each of which would only last one year. At the very least, two months. and the lid has barely opened when needed for the past three months. I've read several reviews about the same issue, and our friend's is no longer working. "Manufacturer will not offer any refunds or product upgrades," it says on their warranty page, which I really like. Thank you, NineStars; I'm curious as to whether you're still in business.

I've only been with the company for seven months and have already contacted them three times about the malfunctioning automatic lid. I've had a small trash can with an automatic lid for several years and have never had a problem with it. I was told to remove the batteries, wait 24 hours, then replace them and everything would work - No, it doesn't. Nine Starts is now refusing to take calls. I demand a replacement or a refund for this item. Not working and having a difficult time getting Nine Stars to provide "customer service" - I will not do business with them in the future.

The second order, which was supposed to be a replacement, was also damaged when it arrived. This trashcan was the ideal size for us and came at a reasonable price. As a result, we were very enthusiastic about it. It didn't work from the start. We were able to use it for about half of the time before the lid simply stopped opening. We ordered a replacement, but the second one failed miserably. What a letdown! br>br>Now we're stuck with a second broken trash can, and we'll have to pay $20 for an oversized box to return it and receive a refund.

This is my second Nine Stars trash can, and the first one failed a week after the one-year warranty expired. I contacted Nine Stars to see if they would make an exception for the warranty period, and I am hopeful that they will. br>br>Recent changes - Nine Stars refused to replace the item because Amazon is not an authorized reseller. I was told that a new lid would cost $30 plus shipping.
