I should have noticed when I left my previous one in compost for over a week, that it stained and rusted. It did not work as well as charcoal filters for reducing the odor. As a result of the holes all over the top of the filter, it was a pretty smelly place, and fruit flies laid eggs and hatched all over it. This was the first composter I found while looking for a new one! The reason there was no review was due to the design but I liked it so much I took the risk to buy it and it was a great purchase.
