If you don't like cleaning the bin, you can use compost bags or simply wash it thoroughly on a regular basis. br>For AuldHome, Becky
Yes. There is a liner on it. It is approximately 2 inches shorter than the pail. Each time I empty the pail, I rinse the liner, and about every third time I empty it, I rinse the liner.

But I like it so much that I'm going to buy another! My old compost bin was too small, and I needed to update my kitchen, so I bought this one. I didn't check the measurements, so when I opened it and saw how large it was, it was a pleasant surprise. However, that is only the outside container; there is a smaller inside plastic container, which I am fine with because it will keep the outside one looking nicer for longer. The filter is thick, and I've had no issues with odors; the container can get bent out of shape, which makes the lid a little difficult to put on at times, but this is easily fixed and doesn't bother me; and the container can get bent out of shape, which makes the lid a little difficult to put on at times, but this is easily fixed and doesn't bother me. It looks great in my kitchen (as shown), and I'm planning to buy a second so I can have one for coffee grounds and one for food. Overall, I like it a lot!.
This is the first composter I've ever had in my house. I didn't have high expectations for the filter because several members of my family have similar setups that still emit a stench. As a result, I decided to keep it in our laundry room, which is conveniently located next to the kitchen. (Because our kitchen/dining/living area is open concept but small, I was concerned about odors filling the space. ) I forgot to empty the composter after three days of filling it! For six days, it sat in my laundry room. Yes, I stated that I would be gone for six days. I came and went on a daily basis, doing my regular laundry. Every day, I walked past it without noticing it. On the seventh day, I finally noticed it and took it out to the compost pile, only to open the composter and gag as I tried to empty it. It was simple to clean out, and it has since held all of the odors in. I'm glad it came with replacement filters, and I'll have to look for the same one in the future so I don't run out. It's now on the counter next to the sink, and I'm very pleased with it.
It's cute and a little bigger than most standard pails, which is exactly what we were looking for. br>br>The most significant disadvantage is that the plastic liner inside does not fit well. It's too short, so scraps fall between the liner and the pail all the time, making cleanup a pain. Because the pail is metal, I'm worried that the moisture will cause it to rust. br>br>It also arrived a little bent. Not enough to be seen with the naked eye, but the lid didn't fit well at first, and it took a couple of weeks of forcing it on to get it back into shape.
The only positive thing I can say about this product is that it comes in a nice container. Despite the filter, fruit flies and pantry moths have taken over our entire kitchen. We began with the second compost container we had ordered for the counter. You'll have to wait another week for the pests to multiply, so you'll have missed the deadline! This one seemed to be a better fit. Our old, simple plastic container was the most effective; a lot of money was wasted on these two!.
It's a great product, with a good size that's big enough to hold a lot of scraps but small enough to sit on the counter (and looks good). The only minor flaw is that the plastic container that fits inside is slightly lower than the rim, making it difficult to remove with food inside. Having said that, it isn't a significant enough issue to warrant a lower star rating. This isn't a composter, by the way. It's a container for storing scraps so you can transport them from your home to your composter outside.
It's lovely, there aren't any flies, and it's functional. One disadvantage of such a simple fix: However, the filter does not fit snugly against the lid, which may allow flies to enter. Simply remove the lid handle, thread the screw through the filter, and replace it! This secures the filter against the holes while also preventing the screw from being stripped. It's a hit with the family. The lid may warp slightly due to the thinness of the metal; Because I use a bag liner, any gaps are eliminated. 🙂.
It's adorable! Fits nicely in my kitchen, is easy to use because it's close by, and is great for tossing those leftover scraps of vegetables, fruits, coffee grounds, egg shells, and so on. There's no odor, and the charcoal filters do a great job. When it's full, I just bury it in one of my veggie beds and let it compost naturally.
I empty the inner bucket into the compost, toss in the bag and scraps, and then wash the liner bucket. It's simple to clean and fast to put together, and it looks fantastic!.
