Questions & Answers
You posed a number of inquiries. br>It's silver in color and holds about a cup of liquid. It's very sturdy and comfortable to hold.
Toy knows everything there is to know about it. It isn't a large scoop. It should be able to scoop up a cup of Doug's food with ease.
Lead could be present in anything made of cast aluminum. It's commonly added to all metals, whether intentionally or not, due to low-grade base metal. You must be concerned about the lead leaching from whatever you are scooping.

The bowl is a good size and shape, but the tiny handle is ridiculous! I bought this to use as a flour scoop, and the bowl is a good size and shape, but the tiny handle is ridiculous! The handle is 2 3/4" long and the bowl is just over 6" long. acceptable for a 5-year-old Hand size of a year old, perhaps; However, it is insufficiently large – as well as being extremely uncomfortable - even in my small-scale business adult-sized hands br>I made the same purchase- Juvale sells a large stainless scoop. At $8, it's a little more pricey. It's only 99 cents, but it's got a great grip! br>Here are pictures of both of them.
It came with no paperwork and was a gleaming silver color. I washed it and it's black; when it gets wet, the black turns to slime, which doesn't wash away. A refund is due to me.
To respond to some inquiries, criticisms, and grievances. It isn't very big. The overall length is just under 9", with the handle being 2 7/8 of that, which isn't long enough for a full grip. I discovered that by wrapping four gingers around the handle and hooking my thumb into the scoop, I can get a good grip on the handle. It is made of 100% cast aluminum and is NOT plated, it is polished and can only be cleaned with dish detergent or anything you could put your hands in. Dishwasher detergent is far too strong and will remove the shine in just one use, as well as pitting it if you continue to use it. If you're concerned about this, a food-grade stainless steel scoop is the way to go.
In the dishwasher, the chrome finish turns into a dark gray powder that does not wash away. I'm not sure what that powder is, but I'm not going to risk ingesting it; if you're going to use it for food, ice, or anything else that you're going to ingest, don't buy this product! I'll use it for fertilizer and deicer. If I were to own a dog, I would.
This is an ice shovel, and it can empty a 5 pound bag of ice in less than three seconds. Both are excellent in terms of quality and price; however, you must first determine your size before placing an order.
I didn't read any reviews before purchasing because the handle is ridiculously small. I can wrap three fingers around it at the most. br>It's supposed to be aluminum, but it comes with a lead warning from California. Although it appears to be aluminum, it is most likely an alloy. br>For my purposes, I believe it will suffice. I intend to use it solely to scoop charcoal.
If you wash this scoop in an automatic dishwasher, the finish will turn a dull dark grey, and the black will come off on your hands, according to the reviews. I'm not even going to use it to scoop dry cat food; instead, I've ordered dishwasher-safe stainless steel scoops. For the price, this isn't a good deal.
This scoop allows me to scoop about 1 pound of flour from the bag at a time, and it's the perfect size for filling my airtight plastic flour container (three to four scoops). I'm getting about one quart or more per scoop, which fits with the container's stated capacity of 36 oz (volume). It's light, pretty, and comfortable in my hand, as well as rugged and strong because it's made of stainless steel. This scoop has made me very happy.
