Mounting the shelf is a simple process and the product will support most items. However, because of the shelf design, heavy items will not be supported. The product is not designed (I believe) to carry that weight, so it is an excellent product. We have used it in a kitchen setting in conjunction with shelf supports, and baking pans and cutting boards are supported properly.
My shelves became more useful when I had exactly what I needed. The shelf is the right size, I did not measure and I am very lucky that I got it. I would buy it again when I need more and I will probably buy it for other shelves as well.
This top shelf is a little long for a standard shelf, but it works perfectly for my needs An awkward process of attaching.
Originally purchased this piece to go with an 18" wire shelving unit, but it was a few millimeters longer than we expected and then it wouldn't.
