The pieces fit on top of one another and don't slide around too easily because they're fuzzy, which creates friction, but they don't stack. By the way, the lid does function as a lid. I didn't care for the smell of the product when it arrived, so I'm hoping it will deodorize soon!.
These aren't big enough to hold my earrings and backing cards (nothing fits in the spaces), and they're too big to take on a trip with you. They had a nice weight to them, but they were insufficient for my requirements. Another fantastic Amazon buy! I did some comparison shopping between several products that were similar. Mebbay's stacked jewelry box was chosen. The quality is excellent, and it's simple to see what you're getting. Make a jewelry organizer. I wouldn't use or recommend it for travel, but it's perfect for use at home.
It works fine; I'm not sure how durable it is, but I'm not going to put too much pressure on it. I know a lot of people complain about not sticking together, but I'm not one of them. It's perfect for earrings, bracelets, and rings, which I needed. Necklaces have their own hanger in my closet.
