A comment from one of the other buyers prompted me to do the same. I have purchased several of these and only have one thing to add. First of all, from the others comments, it appears that the pieces do not snap together As soon as they touch the vertical poles, they snap into place. There is an essential point that is missing from Also, the part where most say hold them together and slide them down the vertical pole until they snap can be tried, but you will most likely get the same size shelves since they will most likely snap in the same place. There is an adjustable shelf system, so if you need to change the height of each shelf, find the groove on the pole that gives you the Simply lay both pieces one next to the other close to the groove and then slide them up and down so they are the closest to the spot where they will connect. Ensure that the arrows of the two interlocking pieces are pointing upwards. Also, make sure you put the shelf over the four poles so that it is as level as possible. When the pole is placed on the shelf, even though the pieces are snap-on, they can be knocked off if the shelf is too hard on one side or if you try to place it on the shelf wrong. You don't have to have a perfectly level surface. It's a job I did However, it will be somewhat of a race to hit all four clips at the same time and come down over them as close to the same time as possible. Lips on shelves need to be pushed over the top of the interlocking pieces on each pole in order for the shelf to slide over them. The only thing that binds them is that. This will not work if the lip is As someone between the ages of 60 and 70 with no real mechanical ability, the first one was the hardest since key points were omitted in the instructions. The following will hopefully help you (I have built about 5 or 6 of them
Due to public ignorance, executive knuckle heads mix all these together because the diameter of the posts is based on the height of the posts, resulting in a price tag that is too high and too many returns. For example, 72" is equivalent to 1 inch, 60" to 3/4 inch, 48" to 1/2 inch.
I just thought of something. To have a lip, you may want to flip the entire shelf.

For those who need to be humbled, I highly recommend this shelving unit. It will give you a fit of frustration to lift and lower the shelves onto the plastic puzzle pieces that ostensibly hold them up as you struggle to assemble these. If you let the plastic pieces fall, will you have to start over? Can you hold them in place, holding the shelf, or will they fall to the floor, causing you to start If they stay in place, but the shelf does not level, will that be a problem? Are you going to be forced to face such an eventuality? A little bit off-center Are you tired of having to reach to the crooked shelf every time you want to use the microwave?
This shelf is not just a shelf. Character development will be a result of this exercise. It will enable you to confront your need for perfection and learn to live with the concept of "good enough. ".
How can this be justified? Open the box to find a nice, heavy box full of sturdy metal shelves and poles accompanied by clear and simple instructions. As of now, everything has been very good and is worth a 5 star rating. I didn't notice the pain when I first started assembling the cupboard, using the very thin, cheap plastic collars that are meant to snap together and which rest on the metal shelves. The first thing you will notice is that they won't snap together, they'll only sort of meet vaguely. As a result, at least half of SHELVES will need to be taken off every single time you attempt to assemble one, forcing you to try and connect them all again and again until you get it right. When you get them all together, mount your bookshelves and think you are home free, that's when you know you are done. That's silly of you. At least one, and probably two, of those shelves will start to fill up once you start loading the shelves. I was surprised. Let the cheap plastic collars fly off from time to time, but this time with the stuff on the shelves Here's where it gets funny The thin, little pieces of plastic hold each shelf in place and should be able to support hundreds of pounds. It's important to take that Supporting hundreds of pounds with a thin plastic that does not lock together. Couldn't we all agree that this shelf MUST be sturdy but Amazon goes cheap on the one thing that should not be? There is nothing else but metal in the world To make locking metal collars that would stay where they are supposed to be and support the weight required would not have cost much more. If they had done that, this would have been a solid unit featuring a 5-star rating Materials and quality are both rated five stars. The shelves are currently together, and I don't have high expectations they will be that way for long. On the top two shelves, I store only the lightest, unbreakable items. What I've bought it for is the exact opposite of what I intended! In the future, I will be looking for other ways to stabilize these shelves, at which point it will serve the intended purpose I just ended up paying a much higher price and having far more trouble than I anticipated It may be possible for you to have an excellent product here, Amazon. Rather than that, you put your name on something pretty worthless, and this needs to be fixed before too long!.
It should take no longer than 30 minutes! Decided how far apart we wanted our shelves to be was the longest part. In order to help all the reviewers who had troubles with assembly, here are my suggestions I. Summary 1. Unlike the wooden poles, the plastic pieces are not intended to clip together. 1. 2. It is NOT intended for the shelves to rest merely "on top" of the plastic pieces, but rather to slide over them like a skirt. 1. 2. 3. In order to assemble this unit, you need to follow the instructions on the pieces, and if you neglect following that directive, you won't accomplish it. You slide the shelves over the plastic pieces after they are in place, and when the pieces are in place, they rest in the grooves of the pole. As a result, the plastic pieces will compress together and fit snugly into the collars on the shelves. Reading the negative reviews, and then seeing how easy it in fact was to put together, I have come to believe that some reviewers simply did not understand the way this is supposed to be put together. In fact, we bought the second one after we enjoyed the first one so much. timed it this time and it took less than 18 minutes for one person to build the entire thing from box to finish. * Therefore, you will have to unwrap pieces and open bags, as well as to place them in the boxes. * * Do not be afraid to do this because some folks misunderstood how to do it. It is very easy to assemble! You must do it I was there in less than 30 minutes.
