I do not believe that is true. In specific, I requested that it be used to store patio cushions in the garage. However, I also requested that it be sealed to prevent spiders from getting in. My disappointment was that I only found a 1/2"-wide Three sides of the zipper have a wide mesh strip. At the time of purchase, I hadn't noticed this mesh in the box photo. I can definitely see bugs getting into the mesh because it is very open. There are a number of other reviews that complain that the mesh ventilation around the top of the tote is too open. My items do not need to be completely watertight, but I don't want to have to deal with any bad smells, dust, or insects passing into them. The problem can be solved by yourself if you don't mind wasting some time. During the viewing of TV, I sewed the mesh closed. Overall, I'm happy with the results, though it would be better if it had been manufactured that way from the start.
The Ziplock brand is well-known for its ability to keep things fresh and air tightly sealed. Having said that, I do not understand the goal of this tote design with the mesh unprotected? I don't see the point of the top fabric woven mesh along the zipper line's length. Bugs, dust, dirt and who knows what else can easily access it. As a result of the size, I bought this for all our bed comforters, but the mesh thing throws off the whole concept I'm going to see if this can be returned. Please note *Bumber.
Nicely made with strong plastic, these bags look great. I bought them for storing blankets, winter clothes, and other items in the basement, however. To me, it doesn't make sense why they thought it was a good idea to have a mesh strip along the top of the bag. Almost nothing can be done with them because of the mesh.
Just under the zipper, there is a perforated section around the top of the tote. Please take note It is a real zipper, not a plastic sealing zipper like the ones you find in Ziploc bags. It is therefore not suitable for storing clothing or linen in humid areas or areas that may be flooded or infested by insects, such as a damp basement or a In addition, the tote is too large to carry more than a few blocks. There are small plastic handles on each end, but the tote is too big to carry much longer. There is no waterproofing on this item, which I am very disappointed about. According to the product description, it comes in a "Pack of 3" and for $20+, it should contain 3 pieces. Only 1 pack was left when I bought it.
The plastic material makes them fairly sturdy (given that they are flexible). Using these dehumidifiers at home for clothes, blankets, etc. was great, but I also used them at work in case of the COVID pandemic to keep my sheets sealed and protected. A mesh band is just under the zipper for ventilation, and I was disappointed to see it. I cannot use this at work because it isn't relevant to my needs. Whether it was included in the product description I am not certain. The product feature I didn't read, but I wanted others to be aware of it in case that is something they might be interested in. Despite its shortcomings, it appears to be a decent product. I will just use it.
