I'm sorry, but I've never used an extender before. I can say, however, that this is an excellent clothes rack, and I intend to purchase another. This thing can hold a lot of clothing.
The "closet doubler," which hangs from the main rod and provides a second level for hanging clothing, is available for purchase on Amazon. That way, I was able to double the size of my closet.
5 lbs. is the wt package. I went straight to the box and looked at it.

Retailers such as Wal-Mart, Target, and others. These racks are by far the best; I ordered three after comparing various racks and seeing that these racks received a lot of positive feedback. The cost may appear to be a little high at first, but it is well worth the investment. It arrived quickly, and the material is much thicker than other racks I've bought in stores. Also, I wasn't sure if I'd be able to load it up with a lot of clothes before it bowed or wobbled. If you look at the pictures I've included, you'll notice that the racks hold a lot of clothing. I'm OCD, and I recently moved into a new house with a small master closet (I say small closet because I have a lot of clothes, shoes, purses, and hats). With the help of these racks, I converted another room into my closet, which would later become an office. These racks made it possible for me to add a second closet to our house.
I'm not sure why there were so many complaints about this product, which arrived in a package that was inside a larger box. Yes, there was some damage to the outside box. Given that 1) nowhere on the box says "Handle with Care;" and 2) such a large box is expected to be handled roughly, it's to be expected. 2) It's a big, bulky object. That being said, my set came complete. There were no gaps. br>br>I read some reviews where people complained about the crossbar being chrome and the rest being a different color that didn't match. It's a rack, that's what it is. This isn't a dining table and chairs. It isn't a decorative or aesthetic item. It's designed to be used in closets, garages, basements, and showrooms, among other places. This isn't your typical living room. It's a useful item that's been designed to last. People will be looking at your products and designs, not the rack that holds them, if you're a designer and you bought this for your shows. br>br>Now that that's out of the way, the product does exactly what it's supposed to do. Glides across the ground with ease. I'm also using it in my basement, which has a partially finished floor. This rack glides across the floor like ice skates, which is exactly what I needed because I'm currently working in my basement and need to be able to move it around quickly. To move the one I had before, I used a furniture dolly. It was excruciatingly inconvenient. This product addresses the issue I was experiencing. It is extremely durable. br>br> I'm hanging a lot of heavy winter coats on it. It's not as high as I'd like it to be. br>br> Some of my long dresses were unable to be hung. It's fine, though. My long dresses can always be put away in the closet. That's fine by me. br>br>It took me less than 15 minutes to put it together. It's very simple to put together. The only thing to remember is that the bars that hold the crossbar in place don't use bolts or nuts; instead, they simply slide into their corresponding slots in the bottom bar. As a result, I wouldn't try to pull myself up from them while my clothes were dangling from the crossbar. br>br>When not in use, this product does not fold for storage. You'll have to unscrew the nuts and bolts in the bars at the bottom if you want to store it. It is completely open. br>br> There is no cover included with it. As a result, if you want to protect your clothes, you'll have to either purchase a cover separately or store them in bags. The latter was something I did. By the way, because it's completely open, if you hang something long on it, it'll be dragged across the floor if you move the rack around. br>br>I've attached some photos. I have a narrow doorway into my storage area, and the bars lifted off easily, allowing me to slide it right through the door and reassemble it in a snap. I was expecting a lengthy assembly process, but it turned out to be extremely simple and of excellent quality. Something that is becoming increasingly difficult to come by these days. It appears to be the only rack capable of holding 400 pounds, and any rack that isn't industrial grade will collapse under the weight of your hanging coats and clothes.
If you're looking for a long-lasting wardrobe or clothing rack, this is the one to get. You'll never need to buy another rack after this. In the 30-minute time frame, I also demolished two more clothing racks. Before I came across this one, I was looking for something in the $40 range. It's a heavy-duty all-arounder. It is made of metal and is very simple to put together. br>I'm using it as a closet and it's working great; I've got at least 60 pounds of clothes on that sucker and it's still going strong. I decided against using the wheels because I already have carpet, which is more durable. My rack box was missing a packet of bolts (which weren't needed; it held up fine without them because all they do is secure the bottom, which already fits together without the bolts), so I emailed the manufacturer to ask what size bolts were used, and the manufacturer offered to reimburse the price of the missing bolts, which was very nice (though I didn't take up the offer because bolts are cheap and easy to find at my local hardware), so I emailed the manufacturer to ask what size bolts.
Don't waste your money; this item is a piece of junk with bent tubes and missing parts that won't even fit together! BUYER BEWARE! This is a return. br>They are not going to refund your money. Read all of the negative reviews; I'm not the only one who has had a bad experience with this product.
This rack appeals to me greatly. I was very excited about it, but it only came with three wheels - Could you please send a replacement if someone from the company sees this? I'll gladly change my rating to a five-star rating. The quality is excellent, but without all of the wheels, it is obviously useless.
It's fantastic- It's a professional rack that can hold heavy coats and glides along the floor. It's large enough to hold an entire wardrobe of clothes. br>It's very easy to assemble. Previously, I had a flimsy rack that was bowlegged and uneven. Since I had to rely on my strength to force down pipes for each leg of the rack, the top bar was at an angle. The pipes didn't all fit the same way because of the way it was made; arduous to describe); With the quality and construction of this rack, this is not an issue or an impossibility. no eye- No yanking with all your might is required when measuring; The pieces are all bolted together (rather than slid into one another at varying lengths), it's even, and it's made of thick metallic pipes- strong.
