They last about a year after being opened in my experience. When I put them in my woolens for storage at the end of the winter, the scent is still there when I take them out the next fall, but it isn't quite as strong. For the purpose of clothing. Pantry moths aren't a fan of it. On clothes, it really works!

I ordered three value packs for $15, each with 72 sachets, from the same seller. Peppermint, rosemary, and thyme are used in this blend. 100% natural cloves made in China unfortunately made in China unluckily made in China unfortunately made% The expiration date this time is 09/19, and I'm not sure what I'm going to do with over 200 sachets in less than 5 months! If the deal's expiration date had been 2022, I would have snapped it up! It's worth noting that it's not refundable. I was completely unaware of the situation. As usual, I am pleased with Amazon, and I will receive a refund, which I will donate to the Salvation Army. I'm going to order a single pack with a longer "use by" date.
I'd been using these for years and thought they were fantastic - There's no stench of mothballs, and the lavender is lovely - That is no longer the case! These were stored beneath the futon in a room that was used as an office. More and more moths appeared in this room all of a sudden. I discovered these sachets were actually moth breeding grounds when I moved the futon to replace them. It was a complete abomination. The sachets were full of moths, and the moths had devoured the entire carpet beneath each one - all the way down to the non-wool backing Each sachet was placed on a bare square shaped spot on the rug. I live in a hot and humid climate (70-80 degrees Fahrenheit). 90% RH at All Times) where we are constantly fighting mold and mildew. I noticed that these sachets contain a number of herbs that are supposed to inhibit mildew growth, so I purchased them to try in my drawers. They appear to help when there are enough of them. Even after a couple of months, clothing that has been near the sachet smells like the sachet and not mildew, even in drawers I rarely open. They're cheap enough that replacing them every few months (rather than having to rewash them all the time) is a reasonable option. I keep two in small drawers and four in large drawers, replacing them as needed and removing those that are no longer fragrant.

Much better than the traditional moth balls I had been using, which had a strong odor that lingered for days. These have a light, pleasant scent that will not stain your clothes. I'm not going to buy it again. My parents were dealing with a meal moth infestation that seemed to be going on forever. We literally took all 72 and placed them throughout the house, including the kitchen, living room, closets, pantry, and so on, but the moths seemed to be fine in those areas, so I wasn't impressed. They do, however, have a pleasant aroma.
The scent is pleasant. It's one of the most effective moth repellents available. I keep these in the bottom of zippered clear vinyl frameless clothing storage bags in several closets, as well as between layers of sweaters and wool blankets.
