The vehicle is not spring loaded, so if you plan to toss around off-road, this might not work for you, but for ordinary driving on dirt or asphalt, it will do the job just fine.
In the same boat as you, I had this A straw hat from my husband is held firmly in place by this strap, but it takes some practice to unclip it without breaking. We also take care to avoid letting anyone sit in that seat, especially our grandchildren, so as not to cause any accident.

If it were not worn with work, it should not be It won't work with the Sunday go to meeting hat because the leather band will be hard to squeeze around the metal.
The item was a Christmas gift for my husband. He installed it behind the driver's seat of a 2003 Toyota Camry. His fedora is on top of his head- It is a type of hat and not a cowboy hat. There are a few of those on his shelf. (
He can easily pick up any hat and put it on with this hat rack. He can simply close the door and grab the hat. Having to search for the hat on the backseat, or squished from bags, etc. , is over. He used to place the hat on the dashboard, which created problems for The way he did that made me hate him. The hat was a pain to hold in the front seat, and I hated having to carry it. Besides being quick and easy to set up, it's sturdy and very functional.
It's one of the best alternatives I've used for the hat holder in the truck, so far. It was necessary to cover the plastic tube with some athletic wrap in order to keep the metal head rest from rubbing against it. It is an excellent product, I am glad to have purchased.
You might need to practice for a while before you figure out the entry angle, but once you do, you'll be good to go forever. The hat hangs safely and is easy to retrieve later. My trailer does not rattle or make noise when it is empty, so I'm very pleased! The hangers are so nice that I have three hats hanging on them! I bought the maker's wall mount hat hangers and have them hanging on my wall now!.
I actually got two of them The wife bought the husband two trucks, one for his work truck and the other for his personal vehicle. The headrest fits comfortably over it and the hat is kept in shape by the retention strap. It is no longer possible to accidentally knock things off the console or toss things on top of the hat when sitting on the console. Despite its simplicity, this is an extremely durable design. There were simple instructions for using this product. This item seemed to be a big hit with the husband (and his hats).
I think this hat holder works better than the one that sticks to the window or the one you try to attach to the inside of the vehicle's roof. You will still have plenty of room for your hat since it won't be squashed in.
When traveling, it keeps the hat in place. Despite this, no one can sit in that seat due to its placement where children's legs and feet are likely to be entangled.
Although the product was delivered quickly, the powder coated finish (Black) was bubbled and lacking in professionalism.
