There might be some bristles on the surface of these Velvet Hangers because they are Velvet Hangers. You can use a damp cloth to wipe off floating bristles or you can rinse it in clean water to rid it of them. Dry items can be hung in your closet when they are dry. I have so far completed 200 of 200. I put three of them on before I put any clothing on. In the end, the hook separated from the hanger. The rest of it is flat and thin, not slippery and cascading. Turning the hook actually results in the hook turning.
Any hangers I use never need to be wiped off. In it, nothing about doing it is mentioned.

Having received this product a few days ago, I wasn't even halfway through hanging my clothes when I realized that there were instructions included with the product (who believes that hangers need instructions? says to clean the hangers with water or wipe them down before use. Using a damp cloth, I wiped them off and a huge quantity of grey scum came Then I had to remove all of my clothes from the hangers and wipe each one down thoroughly, which made me spend several hours doing it. I believe consumers should not have to spend an extended period of time cleaning a new product! These hangers should be ready for immediate use. It is unnecessary to purchase more hangers, so I won't purchase them.
That you have to wipe down every hanger because they are dirty is a total crock. In addition to 100 units, I placed an order for 200 units. I made the biggest mistake of my life.
