Although the instructions weren't very specific, it's easy to figure out on your own once you know how. As far as the hammer goes, I only used it a few times. You don't need to really pound on the clips to hold them in place. Lightly hit the clips, not at the edges, and they won't For anything heavy, I wouldn't use these.
