How far back can the rod be adjusted if I favor a longer rod?

Depending on the shelf you have, I believe it would work in your case. The shelf in the illustration appears to have the same configuration in the front as it does in the rear therefore, I believe it should work in your case.

30" is too long can it be shortened?

I believe it can be shortened if you have access to a hacksaw.

This type of hanger requires a rod with a diameter of what?

3/4 of an inch is what I measure.

absolutely love having a rod in the closet instead of having to hook the hangers in all the slat spaces on the I am very satisfied with these. Fit rubbermaid shelving perfectly. Replaced a couple of old ones that had broken over time.

There is no way to hold a full rod of clothes with this cheap plastic product

I don't understand why this hook is made of plastic. Having a full rod of clothes will cause it to fall over. It has been a very disappointing experience with this entire product line. It was decided to get rid of the entire ClosetMaid system and replace it with a thick wooden rod and metal Superior and far more durable. It's better to avoid the frustration and the hassle.

It is prone to breaking

It's very easy to install the Rod Hooks, however, they are prone to breaking, and your clothes will drop to the floor if they do. Over the course of four years, I had eight breaks at the point where the shelf meets the tip of.

If you are clipping these on a shelf, ensure that it is the correct type

It is imperative that the shelf has a double wire parallel to the front top bar for these to work. The clips cannot attach to every shelf with an it, so these will not work. In addition, they make different types of brackets that hold closet poles on other shelves.

One bracket had broken, and the other one was cracked. The bracket I was looking for is no longer available in local stores. It's no surprise that this has changed, as the new brackets do not fit on the old The brackets I ordered were exactly what I needed to replace the damaged brackets. My heart is filled with joy.
