There are two sets of baskets at the top because of the flares. When measuring the top (with the label coming from the right) it is 9" wide (side to side) and 12" long. I bought this to go on floating bathroom shelves with wood planks, it's a great size. I ended up buying a second one.
As a first step, they were stacked so tightly that I was unable to even install them because they were packed so tightly together. In addition, they appear to be made of plastic and not metal at all, which is In my opinion, this purchase was a waste of money and I can't even separate the baskets, so it is basically useless. As of right now, I am returning them. Anyone who is considering buying should avoid buying. There are no words to describe my feelings of being.
As for the actual baskets, they are great, and I have ordered other sizes for toy storage in the past. The order came with an old bandaid attached when it came out of the box. It is gross.
The textbooks I am using as I am attending school take up a lot of space. These have either been on the ground by my desk or in my backpack in recent weeks.
