It's easy to use and it's compact. The gizmo is amazing. It's easy to use and it's compact. This mat didn't seem to hold much water, and when I did have a leak around the tree, I was worried - it was stained on both the bottom and top. The water had been seeping in and it was hard to see at the time, but when we fell down the tree we had no choice but to remove it. Neither it nor the rug had touched each other. All I can say is that it did its job perfectly and I would recommend it to anybody.
I will reuse mine next year even though it is meant to be used only once.
I bought this because it was the only one in stock when I picked up my Christmas tree and I needed it very soon. The quality of the product is determined by the price. I expected something much more substantial and reusable, whereas this is nothing more than a thin plastic sheet with a thin absorbent layer on top, and it definitely feels like it will rip by the end of the holiday No, I have not tested the claim that it has the capability to absorb 40 fl oz, but I would be very surprised to learn it does. It would probably be more secure for you and you would be better served by placing an old towel on top of the trash bag. Additionally, unless you have a very small tree, the diameter is way too small to catch the sap when any drips come from your tree. This has been our primary concern.
The paper towel absorbs the same as the towel doesn't.
A paper towel is not much thicker.
This is a great.
