Questions & Answers

What is the maximum weight capacity of these? I'd like to use my porch cover to hang a flower basket outside. ?

These are extremely durable. I'd erect a 12-foot banner. There's no problem making a 14" basket out of it. It's not something I'd use to hang a baby bouncer from.

Would these hooks work on a stucco house with a clay roof?

They must be inserted into a wooden surface in order to be secure. In the eaves and roof edge of the home, which would be the norm for stucco homes with clay tile roofs.

My home is near the sea. Are your 2" q hangers available in 316 stainless steel?

Stainless steel hangers were provided to me. We've had them outside for three years and they're still in good shape.

What kind of stainless steel are these hooks made of? Needed for food service applications, what is the diameter of the eye part?

I'd estimate the eye to be 7/16" to 1/2" in diameter, with a gap large enough to pass an extension cord through. I'm going to hang Christmas lights with them.

a Christmas light hanger These were purchased to replace the plastic hangers that are attached to my rain gutter
5/5

Every year, I'd load a bucket full of plastic clips onto my 6-foot step ladder and work my way from point A to point B, installing clips every 2 feet or so. I had far more clips than I needed, but the UV rays would eventually degrade them. I'll hang the Christmas lights once the clips are in place. I'd take down the lights after Christmas and then have to go back and take down all of the clips. On Amazon, I discovered these stainless steel hangers and ordered enough to get from point A to point B plus a dozen extra. I used soffit boards to mount these. They're permanently installed, so I won't have to take them down every year, and the lights won't be exposed to rain like they would be if they were mounted on the rain gutters. I used them for the first time last year, and they make it a lot easier to put up and take down my Christmas lights, and because they're made of stainless steel, they won't rust.

I had hoped for better quality control at a price of almost $1 per item
4/5

The effectiveness of quality control is debatable. I bought two 36-hook packages. They work great for hanging Christmas lights, but at almost 1 per unit, I expected more consistency in the product. About 2010% has longer loops making the screw thread shorter (diameter Due to the extra long loop end on the one pictured, it couldn't be used under the eve of my roof. The remaining half-dozen or so had slightly longer loop ends and shorter screws, but they could still be used. I was going to give 3 stars. If I could, I'd give it a five-star rating.

There weren't actually 36 hangers in the room
3/5

I like the hangers, but I ordered these a month ago with the intention of using them for Christmas this year. I just opened the package to plan out the placement of outside decorations and discovered that there are only 24 hangers, despite the fact that the package and description clearly state 36. Now I have to put my project on hold and order another package, which isn't cheap, especially when you're short on 12.

It's so simple to hang lights these days
5/5

I'd avoided putting up Christmas lights for years until I came across these on Amazon. I bought them last year or the year before, and I was dreading having to hang them, lol. I finally put these up for Halloween lights this year. With a pair of pliers and a quick 1/8" hole, these can be easily screwed in. It turned out to be relatively simple. They're good, solid, and long-lasting. The space for slipping the lights in is large enough to hang the light easily, but the loop is small enough that mini lights won't slip through, ensuring that the right amount of tension is maintained for a nice even look.

They aren't resistant to corrosion in the least
3/5

Last year, in the year 2020, I ordered a large quantity of these to secure my holiday lights to my fascia board, primarily because of their corrosion resistance. After a year, every single one of them has this type of corrosion. They're not made to last, no matter what type of stainless steel they're made of. Outside, I'm about 6 miles west of the Atlantic Ocean in Florida. With the exception of these, none of the other stainless steel products I use outside have corroded. Very let down.

Hooks aren't even close to being the best option
5/5

I was stumped as to how to hang my Christmas lights in my new home because no product seemed to fit the bill. Traditional are designed to hold heavy items that are held in place by their own weight, such as a hanging plant. To get lighter Christmas lights to hang securely and tight, you must zip tie them to each hook. I also dislike gutter clips because they are made of the flimsiest plastics and, as a result, break frequently. More importantly, they leave your lights dangling in front of the house, exposing the wires and all of your lights and connections to the elements. Then I came across this rare find. br>Now it's a breeze to put up lights. I still zip tie the lights every 5 or so feet to keep a nearly perfectly straight line, but I also have a lot of lights with a mix of traditional icicle lights and those new large (shooting star) icicle shaped lights. My system now secures them, and they remain dry and mostly wind-free even when it rains. My wife suggested that she could use these to hang plants during the non-winter months, but these hooks aren't designed to hold that much weight. I couldn't be happier with these hooks, and I'm not sure why anyone would buy anything else. br>Overall, I couldn't be happier with these hooks, and I'm not sure why anyone would buy anything else.

Works
5/5

No more clips popping off or command strips falling off with these as our permanent hangers for temporary seasonal lights, especially Christmas lights. But you really should pre-drill a hole, so don't fight it; drill the hole regardless of what you're screwing into; it's the smarter and easier way to install them in the end.

There will be no more drooping Christmas lights
5/5

I decided to install these after two years of using plastic gutter clips to hang 200 feet of icicle lights. Because I pre-installed them, they took a little longer to set up. drilled pilot holes, but now that they're in, it only takes a few hours to hang all of the lights, whereas before it took a long time to apply the plastic clips, which then fell off when the lights were removed. The fascia boards will not rust or corrode because they are made of stainless steel.
