Because you need to be able to clip the wire in place, standard eye hooks won't work, and these are difficult to come by but well worth the money. I had my patio lights up in no time, and they'll be simple to take down later. I would strongly suggest it.

The screw snapped right at the base as soon as I tried to hang something, even if it was only a few ounces. The screw is now permanently embedded in my wall, and I must now ride my wheelchair a few miles to the hardware store.
