It all depends on what you're going to do with the mixture and where you're going to use it. I grow the majority of my plants in containers, grow bags, or boxes because I have limited garden space. I begin by adding a generous handful of perlite to potting mix or compost and thoroughly mixing it in; if the consistency isn't right, I add more. Pay attention to what the plant starters are potted in if you buy plants from a local garden shop. You'll be able to judge this simply by looking after a while. You could also put a small amount of your mixture in a small pot and cover it with water. If the water takes a while to drain from the drainage hole, you're on your way to creating a good plant mix. In containers, I've grown vegetables, flowers, and fruit trees with this mixture. Best of luck with your development.

More than 50% of it is just powder that doesn t any good and is in fact dangerous to inhale. The other 50% consists of tiny sized granules only. This is something I would not advise anyone to do.
I assumed it was one of the regular 2 qt big bags like soil, but NOOO. beware!.
This is a teeny-tiny purse. I simply assumed the picture would make it larger, but I should have read it more carefully.
br>I gave it one star because it was exactly what I needed at the time, and perlite doesn't vary much between sellers. It's white, light, and a shambles when you try to incorporate it into your soil to improve drainage. Purchase it from a different source.
We received a White Champaca in a 4-inch pot, which was a bit small. We decided to repot it to a larger pot because the root had already filled that small pot. This perlite is exactly what I needed for my project. br>br>Because it's a 2 quart bag, it's quite small; the only issue is that the perlite is a little powdery. However, for one pot, it is adequate.
I'm hoping there's still enough to move my plant. The first bag had opened during transit, so this was a replacement. br>Also opened up was the replacement. The box contained some of the contents. The holes in the box bottom let a lot of air in. br>The bag is a ziplock bag of a smaller size; a higher-quality, slightly larger bag would solve the leaking problems.
This product was exactly as described on the website, and I had great success growing mushrooms with it. I will almost certainly buy from this seller again.
When I finally got around to using the product, I was taken aback by how small the pieces were. Although it may be beneficial to some plants, I prefer a thicker cut.
