Questions & Answers

Is this made of solid wood or particle board with a stained veneer?

It's not veneer; it's made of wood.

For this crib, what size mattress is required?

"Safety 1st Heavenly Dreams White Crib Mattress" is the name of the mattress I purchased. 5"L x 27. 5"W x 5. 5"H - Dimensions of thickness: 5 inches. "Carter's Keep Me Dry Fitted Quilted 4-Piece Set" was another item I purchased. White Ply Crib Pad" Dimensions: To match the mattress, a 28" x 52" sheet is included. So far, I've been pleased with my purchase.

Is this color wood suitable for a dresser and changing table? I can't seem to find a color that matches, only Espresso. ?

It is dependent on the color of the dresser's finish. My Delta Canton crib was Dark Cherry (color code 604), which matched the Delta Silverton dresser in Dark Cherry (also color code 604), as you should be able to tell from the product code and/or manufacturer website. I believe the color code for Espresso / Espresso Cherry is 205 (according to the Delta website), so you can see if the dresser and/or changing table are the same color name or code. Espresso / Espresso Cherry has a more chocolate-like appearance than Espresso / Espresso Cherry, which has a more reddish hue. Color is cherry-like. I hope this information is useful.

Is the crib's rail spacing between 2" and 3/8" or less?

Mine are 2 and 1/8 inch apart, according to my measurements.

A mixed bag of opinions

Problem with the splinter After putting this bed together and considering the options for converting it to a toddler bed and then a child's bed, I was initially ecstatic. It's a lovely bed. It's a beautiful color. It didn't take long to assemble, and the bed feels solid (at least when I shake it). br>br>However, when I put the mattress in a few days later, the mattress apparently caught on the wood and ripped a splinter out (see attached photo). This had never happened before. On the mattress, there were no jagged edges. This was literally caused by putting the mattress in the crib. I need to go get some wood repair tools so my baby doesn't get a splinter from the crack. This is a huge letdown in what could have been a great purchase. br>br>I'm leaving a three-bedroom house in a three-bedroom house in the three-bedroom house in the three-bedroom house in the three-bedroom To convey a mix of positive qualities (esthetics, ease of assembly) and negative qualities (splintering from friction with a mattress during initial mattress placement), use a five-star rating system. If you buy this product, I believe you should exercise extreme caution in all of your actions surrounding it (assembling it, installing the mattress, etc. ). Of course, I'm not sure how I could have done a better job of gently lowering a mattress into it. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> After contacting the company, I received a new replacement part. Thank you very much. Although I still believe the product is fragile, I like the way it looks and appreciate the excellent customer service.

a child's foot became stuck in a toddler gate; My call to the manager has gone unanswered
3/5

My daughter's foot got stuck and she howled in pain the first nap with the toddler gate up, which I loved as a crib. The distance between the bars in the gate is smaller than the rest of the crib for some reason. I was disappointed to discover that I needed to order a new barrier from Amazon. I called Delta but did not get a call back.

We run a daycare for our granddaughter, who is now four years old, and it's a fantastic product
5/5

I recently converted the crib to a full double bed, skipping the step of converting the crib to a day bed in between. Her new "big girl's bed" is one of her favorite things. FYI, I didn't think the slats provided were enough support during conversion/assembly, so I cut about 4 additional slats out of some Douglas Fir 1"x4" boards from Home Depot.

The crib is lovely
5/5

This crib is absolutely stunning. In my baby's nursery, I purchased the Cherry Espresso color, which is very elegant. I was 8 months pregnant at the time we bought the crib and was able to assist in its assembly. It's very simple to put together. It feels very sturdy once it's put together. Now that my daughter is one year old, I'd like to share some of my favorite things about her. Despite how old it is and how much she bounces around, it is still very sturdy. br>br>The mattress is supported by a metal frame that is extremely durable. The height of this crib can be adjusted in three different ways. When our daughter was a baby, we used the highest setting, then switched to the lowest once she was able to stand. I don't have to worry about her falling out if she jumps around. Because my daughter likes to chew, I added a rail guard to the front: )br>br>This crib had a great price as well. I looked at a lot of cribs in stores, but they were all too expensive and didn't fit my needs. I was overjoyed to discover this one and am still pleased with my purchase. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat!.

Crib is fantastic, but Delta Customer Service has become my new euphemism for poop
3/5

The crib is fantastic in and of itself. It's well-made, attractive, and simple to put together. As soon as we had all of the pieces, we were ready to go. We placed our order for this crib in the first week of November, and it arrived about 5 days later. When we opened it, we discovered it was the incorrect crib. We were required to submit a return, repackage it, and drag it outside to be returned. br>br>About a week later, we received another package, this time containing the correct crib. Two of the four legs, as well as some of the hardware, are missing. The instruction manual is in an envelope attached to the bed spring, and we didn't find it right away, so what happened next was a farcical comedy of errors. We went to Delta's website to obtain a copy of the manual so that we could order the proper parts. The only issue was that the online manual was for a different model of the crib with different part numbers. br>br>We ordered the wrong replacement parts and ended up with pieces for a different crib. We returned those and placed a new order after discovering the correct instruction manual in the box this time. We got pieces for a different piece of furniture once again. I called and requested to speak with a manager, but was given the runaround and not even an apology for the problems; I was told I would be connected to a manager, but was instead hung up on. I called back and went through the same procedure, only to be disconnected once more. br>br>I was finally connected to someone who said they could help and told me the "good news" was that the customer service reps were correctly entering the order, but the warehouse guys were sending the incorrect items. When I asked if they could make sure I got the right parts this time, they assured me that the order had been placed correctly and that they would personally verify that it had gone out correctly. It had been more than two months since I placed the original order, and when I requested expedited shipping, I was told it would arrive the next day. br>br>After two weeks, I called to inquire about my order, only to be told that it had been entered but not "placed," whatever that means. I spent another 30 minutes on the phone trying to make sure I was getting the right parts, but they only sent me the two legs I already had. I called one last time and spoke with a manager, who confirmed the order was correct, and I received the missing pieces a few days later. br>br>It took 4 months and over 2 years to get the missing pieces from start to finish. I was on the phone for 5 hours. We got 9 pieces of furniture that we didn't have before, as well as two large bags of screws and bolts for another piece. We were never compensated for our troubles, and the "customer service" reps only offered flimsy "Sorry about thats. " br>br>I like the crib, but Delta customer service is like a poorly guided tour through hell's seventh level.

I had hoped for something like this
5/5

The color of this crib is a lovely dark cherry. It's made entirely of solid wood with metal support springs, making it extremely durable. I like how the springs can be adjusted to customize the height of your mattress - Because I'm short, this is especially useful because you can raise it a little higher to reach your baby more easily. I still have to reach on my tiptoes, but it's an improvement over some models. I also like that it includes a toddler conversion kit, so we won't have to buy additional parts to convert it to a toddler bed. I just hope that when the time comes to convert to a full bed, the parts will still be available. Overall, I'm very pleased with this product; it was simple to assemble, arrived on time and in good condition, and it looks fantastic! Keep in mind that the mattress is not included and will need to be purchased separately.
