This light will be used as a nightlight and decoration in my son's room. It appears to be well made despite its simplicity. This lamp has two significant flaws: br>br>1) The color filters aren't quite right. The green light has a yellowish tint to it. The middle yellow light, on the other hand, has a more orange hue. There is a simple solution to this, but it necessitates the purchase of separate LED bulbs. The lights inside are standard 7-watt C7 form "night light" bulbs. The color accuracy improves dramatically when C7 colored LED lights are used instead. The back is very easy to remove, but a small Phillips head screwdriver is required. There are eight screws on the board. For the light replacements, I used the following: .
To begin, I'd like to state that I consider other people's opinions when making purchases, and this product is no exception. The product itself is fine, but the color of the factor lens and bulbs, as mentioned in another review, is off. I did buy the bulbs mentioned in another review to help with this issue. It made a huge difference, and I'm glad I did it. I'm pleased to say I'm happy, but I did have to purchase additional items to achieve what I wanted. The traffic light flashes, which didn't work for my kids night light, but a change of bulb fixed that issue, so I'm pleased to say I'm happy.
I bought it to use as a nightlight in my son's bathroom. After reading the reviews, I expected the annoying intermittent lighting. I ordered the lamp and some LED lightbulbs at the same time, and the bulbs arrived before the lamp: I plugged in the lamp and turned it on to see what it was like, and it wasn't going to work for what I wanted, just like other reviews had said. I started unscrewing the back to change the lightbulbs and discovered that the plastic on a couple of the eight screws had melted, so I spent about 4 hours just trying to open it without damaging it. Finally, I changed the bulbs and voila, a perfect nightlight; my son, who is 5 1/2 and a classic car enthusiast, adores it. I'm not sure about hanging it on the wall because I don't think it would be bright enough.
For my son's car-themed room, I purchased this traffic light. What I didn't realize was that the light was not only constantly flashing, but it was also very distracting. Anyone who suffers from epilepsy should avoid it at all costs. A seizure may be triggered by a constant flashing light. Seizures triggered by visual stimuli that form patterns in time or space, such as flashing lights, bold, regular patterns, or regular moving patterns, are known as photosensitive epilepsy (PSE). So, we decided to open it up and make it a still light (not constantly flashing). My husband dismantled it and couldn't figure out what was wrong. It turned out that all he needed to do was replace the light bulbs. So yah! We now use it as a night light because we adore it.
It's a big hit with my sons! To improve the look as well as the safety, I replaced the incandescent bulbs with C7 LEDs. The ones I discovered were sold in a two-pack for around $3.
This was bought for my son's new car-themed room. After reading some reviews, I decided to order some bulbs that had been recommended by others. (due to the obnoxious blinking light) The company on the box is not the same as the one on the box; it is owned by a company called "Fun-Kit". This one came from "Lites," at least that's where I got it. I got a "traffic light" (not sure if this matters). However, it was of a smaller size than stated. 11 in. tall On the plus side, it came with eight different settings, all of which are constantly blinking, and the last setting remains on without blinking. So there you have it. It also came with nice LED bulbs that have a good color and are already attached. So, once the other three bulbs I've already ordered arrive, I'll return them because I don't need them if I can keep the light steady and not blink. On the down side, I was hoping for a size 12 to arrive. As previously stated, the cost is $25, but there is now the added hassle of having already purchased bulbs that I did not require. We'll see how this product holds up in the long run. Also, mine didn't come with a switch; instead, it had an on/off button on top that I had to press into the eight settings.
But I guess they fixed the problem because my package came with a vibrant green, yellow, and red! There are no bulbs that need to be replaced. I expected it to be bigger and heavier, but it's actually smaller and lighter than I expected. This isn't a major issue. It could undoubtedly be made more affordable. It'll look fantastic in my toddler's new car-themed room! I am looking forward to it.
The top of the device has a power button that you can use to change the settings. Solid red, blinking red, solid yellow, blinking yellow, solid green, fast or slow change of all three, or a solid of all three are all options. You can even make it light up by clapping your hands or listening to music. I believe he will enjoy it, but I am disappointed that it did not include a cord.
