Yes, but only when the heat is set to high. For high heat, there is only one option: 1 hour, and the low heat setting has no timer.
The previous response about a GFCI being required is incorrect. This heater has a built-in GFCI on the cord, making it safe to use in a bathroom. Make sure it doesn't get wet.
No, it doesn't work that way. It does, however, have a button on the top that allows you to switch between high and low settings, as well as a one-hour run option if you only need it to keep the bathroom warm.
Mine came in at one. 9 meters (2 yards) is the distance between two points.
Selected User Reviews For Lasko CD08200 Small Portable Ceramic Space Heater for Bathroom and Indoor Home Use, White, 6.25 x 6.25 x 7.65 inches
It was extremely well heated! Thank you very much! It is incredibly light! Thank you very much! However, it is insecure in my opinion. It will literally vibrate all over the counter for whatever reason(s) in its construction. It moves slowly but steadily in this direction. This is dangerous in my opinion. period. I believe that if you left it 'on,' it could vibrate itself off the top of the counter, and then what? Who knows but God? So. If the manufacturer could just add some sort of non-toxic additive, that would be ideal. I'm sure adding a skid base would solve the problem, but I consider it unsafe for the time being. I turn it on, but only if I'll be able to watch it every 15 minutes or less. I wouldn't turn it on and leave it alone for an hour or more. It's far too dangerous! THANK YOU, BUT NO!.
I wasn't planning on writing a review because I assumed my heater was defective, and since there were so many positive reviews, I didn't want to smear the brand name for a defect. However, when I went to look for a replacement, I checked Lasko's other heater reviews and discovered that what I experienced was a common occurrence for this brand. br>br>I ADVISE anyone considering purchasing any Lasko product to read my review. Don't make a decision about a brand based on my personal experience, but it's a good idea to keep it in mind and keep an eye on your heater. br>br>Here's where I'm at:
- In my bathroom, I had two separate heavy-duty heaters plugged into the same outlet. My home is also only two years old and was built from the ground up with all new appliances.
- My bathroom is very spacious, and it could even be compared to a bedroom of average size. As a result, there's no need to worry about ventilation or high temperatures.
- This heater was purchased. I connected it to a surge protector that was connected to the same outlet within two days.
- The heater's fuse tripped after the first 10 minutes of use. I double-checked and discovered that my surge protector had MELTED. There are visible signs of burns on the outlet on the wall. Someone appears to have used a lighter for about 20 seconds on it. I'm pretty sure my outlet/wall would have caught fire if it hadn't been for the surge protector.
- I moved the heater to my office and plugged it in there. Every ten seconds or so, the heater fuse blew. The wire, as well as the outlet on the wall, became extremely hot. I've decided that the heater is faulty at this point. br>- As a result, I'll need to purchase a new surge protector as well as have my outlet replaced. I had to pay money for the heater. br>br>As previously stated, mistakes do happen, and this may have been a defective unit, so I didn't want to bring the Lasko name into disrepute. However, while searching for a replacement for this heater, I came across other Lasko heaters and realized that my experience was similar to that of other Lasko heaters. At this point, I'm terrified that the same thing will happen again, only this time it will be much, much worse.
Simple to work with. In the bathroom, it's very useful. This heater will run on high for one hour and then automatically shut off if you just hit the top once, without fiddling with the digital settings. If necessary, you can simply hit the large button on the top three quick taps to turn it off sooner. Simple manual high, medium, and low settings without a timer are also available, though I rarely use them. br>br>If you're tired of having to sit and wait for numbers to scroll through to your selection because keypads have gone the way of the dinosaur to save money, this heater will come in handy. br>br>Also, at 1500 watts on high, it produces a lot of heat for its size, and the air stream isn't too strong, which is important if you like to stand in front of the heat blast after getting out of the shower. br>br>I tap the top button once while getting ready to shower, and in 10 - 15 seconds, I'm done. My 8' x 10' bathroom has been warmed up in 15 minutes. The cord has a fuse that will automatically turn off the unit if condensation shorts anything, but this has never happened to me. br>br>I noticed that many online units were advertised as bathroom units, but they were not built with this safety feature.
After receiving the Lasko 754200, I realized I needed another. However, I came across this while looking for it and decided to try it. It's well worth the additional cost. It's slightly larger than the 754200 (about the same height, just thicker), but the fan is much more powerful, and it heats up my larger bathroom much faster. One of the reviews mentioned a vibration issue, but I didn't notice it. Is it possible that they received a faulty unit? Because it's on the floor, I like how I can tap but not button with my foot. br>However, I deducted one star because I intended to use it with a timer socket, which it does not support. I understand it has its own one-hour shut-off feature, but in the winter, I'd like to be able to program my socket to turn on the heater 15 minutes before we need to shower. If the timer worked, I would definitely give it a 5.
One of the few electric room heaters I've seen that is certified for use in the bathroom (all others state "not for use in the bathroom"). br>br>It has three power settings:br>High for one hour (shuts off after an hour)br>High with no shutoffbr>Medium with no shutoffbr>And you can turn it on/off and cycle between the power settings by tapping your foot on the large button located on the top of the unit; no bending is required to operate this when it's on the floor (which I believe most people will put it). br>br>My only complaint, and the reason I gave it four stars instead of five, is that it lacks an air filter to catch lint, which my previous electric heater did. Over time, dust will accumulate on the heating elements, reducing their effectiveness. I guess I'll have to see if my vacuum can get rid of the dust.
