On low, 900 watts are used, and on high, 1500 watts are used. Regardless of the physical size of the heater, ALL electric heaters produce the same amount of heat PER WATT. Yes, this will heat a large room, but a small room will be heated much more quickly. I recently purchased this heater and am very pleased with it; in addition, I have a number of radiator heaters. Every one of them is excellent.
When the heater reaches the appropriate setting on the dial, it will turn off. There are no degree marks, so you'll have to figure out which graphic you want to use. Because I live in the south, I chose the middle option. Keep an eye on the return time because I bought a few and one of them lost the heat element and only rotated to one side, but Amazon replaced it right away. It's a small, compact heater/fan that's been my best purchase in place of older, less cost-effective high towers.
It should turn, and the middle switch should control oscillation.
If you're okay with it, it'll stay turned on and run all night. There isn't a switch that turns off the machine automatically. If you're more comfortable with it, I'd recommend purchasing a plug-in timer.

Although this heater appears to be adequate, it emits a foul odor of burned plastic. I left it out on my patio for a few days, but the odor didn't go away. It would take months for this heater to air out, and the stench is so strong that everyone flees in a matter of minutes. I don't believe it was melting anything; instead, I believe whatever plastic they used to make the heater smells like that when it gets hot, so it may not be a safety hazard, but the odor is intolerable. They may not all be like this, as this heater has good reviews, and it probably depends on the batch of plastic used, but I've come to expect more from Amazon Basics, and this experience has made me wary of buying from them in the future.
I bought this heater over a year ago and was disappointed when it was recalled due to wiring melting in the switch, which could cause a fire (mine had begun to do so). The brand and design are identical in this one I just bought. The oscillation is nice and quiet, and it really pushes the heat out (on high, the air temperature leaving the heater registers 244 degrees). It easily heats a room measuring 15' x 15'. If the manufacturer can resolve the safety issue, I will continue to use this product for a long time.
I was glad to get this heater for half price during a flash sale, but I would have been disappointed if I had paid full price, because the smell that the manual claimed would go away in a short time took an inordinately long time to go away, to the point of being alarming. What, after all, is that chemical odor? According to the manual, it should be used in well-lit areas. I ventilated the area until the odor went away, but what good is a heater if you have to run it near an open window? After a long time, the odor finally went away, possibly due to the fact that I was only using the low wattage setting. Another issue I have is with the temperature setting dial, which is unreliable. Completely contradictory: At varying room temperatures, it turns on and off. Because I bought it early because it was on sale, I didn't have time to return it. In a CNN Business article, I also read horror stories about Amazon Basic heaters, but the article was about older models, so I assumed any flaws would have been fixed after two years. I'm not sure if the product was improved or if the manual was simply rewritten with hundreds of warnings. There is a tip-off feature. over a working safety feature It appears to be working now, but I use it with caution, never leave it plugged in when I leave the house, and would not recommend this brand for this type of product.
It does a good job of keeping our small space warm. The problem is that the outer plastic began to melt after a few weeks of continuous use.
I received it, plugged it in, and set the temperature and fan to maximum. After about two minutes, it turned off. So I read the manual and it said that if it did that, it was overheating and would "trip-out. " "off" for the sake of safety. As a result, you must reduce the temperature setting by two notches. It worked and stayed on after I did that. For a heater that costs $25, it performs admirably.
This was purchased as a supplement to help heat a room without having to heat the entire house. The price was lower than comparable models, and it performs as well as, if not better than, a few other well-known brands I've used in the past; the black color blends in better with our room's decor than white models. I would strongly suggest it.
Because of the poor circulation in my office, I use this. Clearly not for large rooms, but it will warm a 12' x 12' room to a comfortable temperature.
