I'm not sureājust put the crystals in the cup and wait until it mostly dissolves in water. I flush it down the toilet, wipe it clean, and begin again. It removes moisture from my closets and wherever else I put it, and the fresh scent one is my favorite. I see it looks dirty in there, but that's probably how it is. I don't mind because it's cleaning. It appears to work well and absorbs more quickly than packets or other products I've tried in the past. br>Best of luck to you.

Our youngest daughter, for example, is currently residing in Rhode Island, which is experiencing snowfall and temperatures in the low 30s. Meanwhile, the mid-Atlantic region is experiencing record heat. Spring flowers blooming and grass that grows quickly in the 1990s. We had to figure out a way to properly preserve our collectibles ranging from antiques to paintings because we have a storage area in our "basement" (actually the ground floor under our elevated living space) that isn't air conditioned. DampRid's efficiency was discovered in this manner. We haven't had any mildew or rust issues in this room since we started using this product. The most important thing to keep an eye on is how quickly the DampRid containers can fill up with water. I set a reminder on my calendar to go through them once a month and empty or refill the ones that need it. We use everything from hanging units to large four-pound tubs, so we go through a lot of refill bags. We purchased a large quantity because the price was the best we could find. You can't go wrong with this product. br>br>Another trick we learned to keep the moisture down in our unairconditioned garage is to install a size-appropriate dehumidifier next to a garage door and feed a plastic tube through the small opening where the door meets the concrete to allow the unit to drain without having to empty the drain pan on a regular basis. All you have to do is check the unit every now and then to make sure it's still working and the tube is properly connected and not plugged up.
In the past, once it had completed its task, I would discard it. The container should be recycled. I had no idea there was a crystal bag that could be refilled! DampRid comes in a ten-pound container. 5oz. This reusable bag perfectly fills four containers! The price is excellent, as is the fact that I no longer need to purchase the actual containers. The bag is designed to make it easy to refill the containers without making a mess. It has a seal of its own that keeps it safe. I do fold down for added security. use a clip to fasten it It's tucked away under my kitchen sink, waiting for the next refill. The "Fresh Scent" is also quite pleasant. For all of the reasons stated above, I strongly suggest it!.
It's very cost effective! New Damp- Rid containers are expensive, but they can be refilled easily, so there's no reason to buy them more than once. Simply drain the collected liquid, rinse, and dry the container before refilling with this dessicant material. To control the amount of scent (which can be overwhelming with straight scented material), mix the unscented refill material with a little of the scented very refill material. It's highly suggested!.
Man, you're nauseating, sickeningly sweet. chemically produced odor Even after being out of the shipping box for a day, it could be felt through the heavy plastic packaging. We corrected our mistake by purchasing the "scent free" version because we don't like adding random sensory pollutants to our world. This was reasonably priced (in fact, it was significantly less expensive than comparable Amazon items - We decided it wasn't worth returning, and since it's just anhydrous calcium chloride (plus unknown pollutant odor beads that the packaging can't go down the drain but must go into landfill), we'll dissolve it and send the resulting liquid down the drain, with the landfill component going into our landfill. Now I'm trying to remember where I put my (presumably organic) vapor mask.
I would not recommend this product. However, for the price, it's a good deal. br>Purchase something that isn't contaminated. scented.
Then switch to these refills, which are much less expensive. They carry out their duties effectively. This will solve the problem if you have a closet or other enclosed space that smells musty or has mold. Two Damp Rid cups are sufficient for a small closet, according to my experience. A larger closet will be tackled by a group of three or four people. With one of these bags, you can refill up to 3 or 4 cups. It appears that how quickly it is depleted is determined by how frequently you open and close the space, as well as the severity of your moisture problem. They seem to work for me. I'm not sure what you could do besides spend a few hundred dollars on a couple of electric dehumidifiers. I don't have a whole-house dampness problem, so that would be overkill for me.
The original product was fine, but this refill bag is a disaster. It has a chemical odor to it, like the stuff they use in people's hair when they get perms. White flakes and yellow beads have been added to the original, which only had white flakes. This is what I use to absorb moisture in my laundry room because it used to smell musty, but now it smells like someone is getting a perm in there. The container in which the product was packaged was fragrance-free. The smell of this "fresh scent" refill is unbearable.
This product really works (and I use it all the time in my old house's closets); When I opened the amazon shipping package, however, I discovered that the product was damp. When I cleaned it up, I discovered a hole in the product packaging, which explained why there was so much accumulation. So my issue is with the packaging rather than the product. Instead of purchasing the large refill bag, I will most likely return to purchasing the two other forms I have been using (small refillable tubs and hanging bags). br>It was later added: When I opened the bag, I discovered that the zip lock closure was not attached to the bag's edge, rendering it useless. I won't be purchasing a refill bag in the future.
