THE QUICK AND EASY WAY TO CLEAN A FAN - My Vornado 630 fan had accumulated a thick layer of dust after many years of use, so I set it on the ground in front of my garage and blew it away with my leaf blower. The fan has been cleaned after a huge cloud of dust and dirt was blown off it.
This fan has three speed settings, so it might be just right for you depending on your needs. You may want to use the higher settings on particularly hot days. You can also adjust the fan's angle so that air is circulated above you rather than directly hitting you.
When set to low, there is no discernible sound, but when set to high, there is a slight Vornado wind sound that isn't bothersome.
My Vornado 630 is an older model with a China-made label. I use soft ear plugs and can barely hear the fan, but it blocks other noises in the house. On the low setting, it makes a soft low frequency air noise that I believe is now referred to as "pink noise," which I prefer to the higher frequency white noise. When my wife is watching TV, I crank up the fan to medium speed, which is a little louder but still bearable with ear plugs and blocks out the sound from the next room's TV.

Aid. I purchased this fan with the expectation that it would "circulate" the air in a room better than a standard fan. My wife thought it was insane that I would spend $70 on a fan. She was, in fact, correct. The first thing I noticed when I opened the box was how cheap it looked and felt. Place it among the flimsy plastic fans available at a 7-Eleven. Cover the logos with 11 or cvs: You'll have a hard time spotting it among the crowd. I decided to plug it in anyway, hoping that its cheap plastic construction would fool me. I was immediately dissatisfied with the sluggish wind that this thing produced. Nonetheless, hoping against hope that the "air circulation" spiel was true, I set it up in my small room and positioned it as directed, hoping beyond hope to convince my wife that I hadn't wasted $70 on a marketing gimmick. After giving it a full day's worth of effort, I discovered that I was unsuccessful. This thing doesn't do any better than the $15 convenience store fan at "circulating" the air in my small room. So please, save your $70 and put it towards something else. br>9/2/19br>UPDATE: A piece of junk fan has stopped working.
I recall having owned a VORNADO FAN in the past. Excellent is the best way to describe it. Designed and manufactured in the United States of America. I wouldn't have bought this fan if I hadn't seen "made in China" somewhere in the description. br> After doing some research online, I discovered that Vornado had sold the company to China in August of 2014. There have been 79,000 Vornado electrical products RECALLED so far. br>Amazon has, in my opinion, lost its credibility with me.
Since purchasing my first Vornado fan in 2014, I've been completely enamored with it. While not very quiet, it is easy to clean and produces a lot of air for its size, so when I moved to a larger place and needed a second fan, it seemed like buying another one of these was a no-brainer. I was disappointed to learn that current fans with the same model and name are inferior. While they appear to be identical, they produce significantly less air and have a redesigned power switch that protrudes further and feels extremely cheap. I'm concerned that the new, cheap-feeling power switch will be the first to fail. I disassembled both to examine the motors, and the new fans have a distinct motor. It looks a little nicer now that it has a black case to match the case, but it only produces a little less air. Although these new fans aren't bad, the quality has clearly deteriorated. When these wear out or I need a replacement, I'm hoping for another great brand.
The second problem is that it is poorly constructed. The front face continued to peel away. I have two of these, both of which are of much higher quality and date back many years. Yes, the motor quickly spins the fan, causing a lot of wind to blow in your face. The product's quality has deteriorated significantly.
This is a follow-up to our fan purchase. While the fan unit is deserving of 5 stars, I wanted to express how enthusiastic we have become about Vornado LLC, the unit's manufacturer. br>br>When our son went off to college, we bought him this fan as a gift. To cut a long story short, he knocked the fan over by accident, and one of the fan blades broke as a result of the impact. br>br>After failing to locate a replacement blade online, I contacted Vornado LLC to inquire about purchasing a replacement fan blade (seemingly a waste given that the rest of the unit was brand new). The gentleman with whom I spoke was extremely professional and courteous. I explained the situation and asked if there was any way I could buy just the fan blade, allowing the unit to be used again. A brand new blade arrived in the mail five days after contacting Vornado, complete with no bill. br>br>Needless to say, I was completely taken aback. This kind of generosity is becoming increasingly rare. I'm writing this review to let others who are thinking about buying something from this company know what a great company they'll be dealing with. br>br>Vornado LLC deserves a lot of credit!.
