Questions & Answers

Is it possible to remove the grill in order to clean it properly?

Yes, you can completely disassemble the fan, remove the blades, and thoroughly clean it.

It has a choppy helicopter tone, according to the best review. Is it correct? What's your take on it? Whether it's smooth or choppy, it's a personal preference. thanks?

No, I haven't discovered that to be the case. I've had this fan for a while and it's very quiet. It's the sound of blades whirring, not choppy music.

Is it metal or plastic that the blades are made of?

The ones I got have plastic blades.

How tall are you?

I measured the fan's height from the bottom to the very top, and it was 52 inches. It reaches a maximum height of 5 inches.

Some people, like myself, use fans for both white noise and cooling, so sound is an important aspect of a fan for me. This fan has two blades (you can see what I mean if you look closely at the picture), which gives it an unusual sound. In addition, the motor is extremely loud. Because of the choppy tone, it reminds me of a helicopter. br>br>In terms of air flow, it's fine. br>br>Assembly was a little difficult, especially putting the cages together because the flimsy piece of plastic that connects the two metal cages together was very loose on arrival and ended up popping off the nut from the screw (which was a lot of fun trying to find a nut the size of an eraser head tip). Even after securing it, there was still a problem, so I had to disassemble it all again to try to figure out what was causing the noise, which turned out to be the fan! So now I have to decide whether to disassemble it and try to fit it back into the tiny box it came in for a refund or just cut my losses. You can avoid the discomfort.

Vornado In comparison to any other fan I've used, assembling and disassembling this one was a breeze. You'll have no trouble putting this together if you've ever disassembled a fan for cleaning. Because of Vornado's snap-together construction, it's only slightly more difficult to disassemble and reassemble than a full-size Vornado. cage to be placed br>br>However, I can see why some people might object. It's a two-channel strap that the front and back cages must align in before being screwed together at the bottom. Although the design isn't fundamentally flawed, it does necessitate some skill. It's a popular design that's used by a lot of other companies. br>br>Tip: if you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, try using the words " when removing and reinstalling Remove only half of the screw when installing the cage. To install the front cage, loosen the screw until it lightly snaps onto the rear cage, then snap the front cage into its channel and tighten the screw. It's possible that the first time you try this, you'll be frustrated. The second or third time you do this, the process becomes more fluid. It's a little easier to take out the Vornado cage. br>br> Lever the snap clip down *gently* until it disengages with a screw driver. The rear of the fan cage is used for this. You're done once you've finished with the other snap clips. It's as simple as aligning the clips and pushing them back into place to reinstall. When all of the clips have been fully inserted, it will be obvious. br>br>The Vornado cage design has one disadvantage: the plastic snaps that hold the cage in place can break and are nearly impossible to repair. This was a problem with one of my full-size floor-standing Vornados. The cage will vibrate and make noise if one of the snaps is broken; if you strip the screw that holds the cage in place with this fan, a few pennies at a hardware store will take care of it. br>br>I can't say whether the dual blade design moves more air (CFM) than a similar fan without the smaller blade, but it might add some turbulence, which could lead to broader coverage. I guess. If that's the case, it's a good choice for a larger space. This unit doesn't move as much air as a full-size floor-standing Vornado, but the difference isn't as significant as the price difference suggests. br>br>The remote is easy to use and has a good range. There are no remote controls on my Vornados. This fan has a very low noise level when it oscillates. The Vornados I'm using don't oscillate, but their design doesn't require it to provide full coverage, according to Vornado. I'm not sure I believe this, at least not in the sense that it applies to the real world. Regardless, the Vornados work as advertised and are extremely effective when properly aimed. br>br> The adjustment of the down angle is firm and fluid. Height adjustment is simple, though a larger knob would make it easier to loosen and torque it in place. In comparison to floor-standing Vornados, the fan feels relatively stable and secure on its stand, and is probably slightly less likely to topple. It can be programmed and has a "nature" and "sleep" mode. The nature and sleep modes are similar in that they vary the fan speed over a set period of time, similar to a slow-moving, rolling wave. br>br>For those who use fans for white noise/tinnitus masking as well as air movement, this should suffice. The second, smaller blade most likely adds some mid-range power. range white noise, which, when combined with the larger blade, is effective at masking ambient noise. Large Vornado's mask tinnitus better than smaller Vornado's. Most people will prefer this fan's quieter operation if masking environmental sound and/or tinnitus isn't a reason for buying a fan. br>br>Although I prefer full-size Vornado fans for their powerful output, sound masking capabilities, and aesthetics, I'm pleased with this purchase. You can get almost four of these for the same price as one full-size Vornado floor standing fan. In absolute terms, I believe the floor-standing Vornados are the superior product, but at $35 and delivered to my door, this is an undeniable product that deserves five stars.

The best fan purchase I've ever made
5/5

Without having to look at the directions, it was put together in minutes. It is quiet and produces a pleasant breeze. For one dollar, you can get a three-year extended warranty. If you keep your fan on as much as we do, 94 is a no-brainer. The oscillating mechanism is always the weak point of fans, but after 60 days of use, this one appears to be running like silk. Every year at our garage sale, I sell at least one fan with a broken oscillating mechanism, and it's nice to know I won't be doing so for at least three years!.

A Fantastic Fan for a Fantastic Price!! I can't say enough good things about this fan! br>Because I am an Amazon Prime member, delivery was lightning fast
4/5

br>The fan was simple to put together. It took less than 25 minutes to unbox and put together. br>The remote is a good size and has all of the controls needed to operate the fan easily, including the oscillating option (which is not included on the majority of the fans I looked at when deciding which one to buy). )br>This is a fan that I would recommend.

Parts may be missing because the assembly was so difficult
3/5

The most difficult aspect of the project was putting it together. The stand is not secure, and I believe some parts are missing, so it is not completely supported. It works fine, but the stand is a stumbling block. br>br>And where's the remote control?.

The Fan's Performance Is Excellent, And The Price Is Reasonable
5/5

The fan's performance has left me impressed. The volume is just right; it's quiet and powerful, which is exactly what I was looking for. I didn't have any problems putting it together. I used to own a couple of fans with that band holding the grills together. As a result, I breezed through the final step. Because the small blade was wrapped in cardboard rather than the same plastic as the large blade and grills, I almost missed it in the box. Not only that, but both blades are heavy and not flimsy, which is a plus. A different model of this fan appears to be available on Amazon for $10 more. Keep your ten dollars in your pocket and jam out to this fan.

It works well, but there are some parts missing
3/5

This fan is great; it was simple to put together, and the remote works well; however, after looking at the product online, I realized I'm missing a few pieces. The second, smaller blade was not included in the package. I now have the main blade, but I had no idea it was supposed to come with a smaller blade. The main one works, but if I point it down, it will fall off the pins holding it in place, so we'll have to tilt it up. This fan works well, but it is in need of repair and is a pain to deal with.

This is a fan that you should not purchase
3/5

I'd give it a one-star rating if I had the option. I bought two of them because I thought the first one was defective, but the second one had the same issue. It was extremely difficult to put together. The nut holding the fan blade to the mechanical unit was impossible to remove. I tried it with a few mechanically inclined friends, but they couldn't figure it out either. Because I was so frustrated, I returned one for a refund and simply gave the other away, telling the person that if they could fix it, they could have it. They couldn't fix it even with a team of people. This item has no value. I eventually settled on a Honeywell tower fan, which is now in excellent working order and was incredibly simple to assemble. This piece of scum deserves to be beaten severely.
