The property manager of a rental residence informed me that the old thru-the-wall unit that worked for 20 years needs to be replaced This year, 25 years of suffering came to an end. In order to provide the tenant with some relief from the heat, I bought a portable a/c unit, then my company had to special order an a/c unit from another vendor due to the high demand for air conditioners The worst nightmare I have ever experienced! I am stuck with this a/c unit and am unable to get my money back. Please do not purchase this a/c unit.
I guess I made a mistake by buying this unit. We had the old unit removed that was 24 years old and then installed this one and turned it on and it worked for 30 seconds before shutting In the following hour, I went back and forth between setup and troubleshooting, but nothing worked. The LCD panel just beeped and flashed. This 1-digit code is sometimes called the 1-digit code We called the 800-number and were told it would take 2 to 3 weeks for a technician to show up! As a matter of fact, the manufacturer recommended returning it, saying that it was unlikely to be fixed. I am disappointed and inconvenienced by this! This is a cheap air conditioner that would take a lot of effort to repack and ship down the stairs. As a Prime Member for 4 years, this is the first purchase I have had to return. Amazon handled the return process extremely well.
There is nothing I dislike about the ac, it is really white in color, it looks bright and clean, it works very well, but arrived damaged in the front as well as on the top, so I still installed it to see whether it works, so I gave it 4 stars. Another one is on its way, and I hope it will be in good shape.
There is nothing wrong with this AC. It's exactly the same as a Frigidaire I have, except it's a lot quieter and 250 dollars less expensive. It also comes with a great remote. The state in which I live offers rebates for the energy star program.
