Fedders A/C just broke down after almost 30 years of service - This new unit replaces the old unit. There was a time when it worked, but now it doesn't. Due to the fact that it had died in the last weeks of August, there were no A/Cs in the local store, so we were in need of an instant replacement. Amazon was the place I got it from. I have been very pleased with the performance of the Frigidaire after a week of use. A cool breeze comes from moving the air around so you feel the cool breeze in two adjoining rooms quickly. It is only the fan that makes a noise. It may not be to everyone's taste, but we find it to be Besides the built in trim that fits around the front edges of the unit after it is installed in the wall, it comes with 4 pieces of accent trim that match the style of the unit This unit is through the wall and only cools. In order to install units through the wall, they MUST be installed in a "sleeve. " Instead of a generic sleeve, we chose the one that is specific to our refrigerator (Frigidaire). I feel right at home. Now, some people are complaining that there is no water dripping out of The reason for this is that newer air conditioners use the water that normally drips to cool the condenser and the fins. As the water is splashed around to the parts that need cooling, the fan in the back cools them. (If there is too much condensation, I imagine that water drips through the back cut outs. )
It's too early to rate energy efficiency, so no comments there.

If I want the room to be cool, I have to lower the thermostat to 65 degrees. Otherwise, I have to use a fan as well. The unit was delivered on July 12th without the remote and, as of the time of writing this review (August 5th), I still have not received it. The company responded to several emails I sent about the missing remote before anyone deemed it fit to respond. As soon as I've handled what is required ( sending model number etc) I still have to email them and see when I'll receive the I should not have sent so many emails in order to obtain an item that should have come in the box. Considering the price of this device, I should not have to send this many emails beginning with the first email. It does not make sense for CyberSavings - The customer service team shouldn't need to receive five emails before responding to a query and then dragging their feet afterward and not reaching out to keep the customer informed. It took a while for my remote to arrive! *****UPDATE****

After another few emails and frayed nerves, Cybersavings sent me the missing remote exactly one month after I first contacted them. There is just one month left! You won't ever do it.

This unit has been a great purchase for me. Despite its quiet nature, it has so much power. The machine can be controlled remotely. I was able to install it into the wall without much difficulty. All the tools you need are included. A sleeve was already in my possession, so I just used that.

It's the same model as last year. Last year's remote was much more convenient than the one on this year's model. In the remote, all the functions were displayed. There is no such thing in this model. The green LED light on the unit itself needs to be seen with a keen eye or you'll need to walk up to it to see it. Not only do you have to see which led is on, but you also have to scroll the display. As well as remembering what they represent, you should also know how they function. From last year's model, I took away a few important things. When it comes to cooling, the unit does a very good job. There is nothing to complain about For a bedroom, I would not recommend it. It is quite noisy with both units, in my opinion. There is quite a lot of noise generated by the air rushing and the fan. I hoped for an improvement in this department, but no luck. The Panasonic and Friedrich I have are both high quality. There are two 5000 btu models that are noticeably quieter than the other. The cooling machine has a variety of functions, and it is generally a good machine.

There is no problem with this AC. With the variable speed on, the room is cooled in about 15 minutes. It has been a humid day. I assume that it is energy efficient since my energy bills don't seem to be too high, so am assuming that this is because the low amount of energy used and the time of day when I use it (usually at night) is when it is most efficient. The only problem is that it is noisy. When you're trying to sleep, that is the one thing that gets the best of you. That's why the star rating is only four instead of.

The situation is out of the ordinary. It's been a long time since I've dealt with an AC, so something is very wrong now. Despite its large size, it rattles horribly inside
It was so heavy to lift and install, omg I didn't imagine I'd have to return it. I feel sick when I see this.

In lieu of a replacement, a gift card will be issued. In order to purchase a new one next year, I will now have to look again. Now that winter is here, we are entering the cold season. Repair this unit yourself or have it done by an electrician.
