Questions & Answers

How do I install any air conditioning unit in an existing sleeve as long as it fits in the ?

In order to install an AC unit through the wall, you will need an AC unit designed to do so. Neither a window unit nor a wall A window unit is cheaper than a door unit. They exhaust through the side of the unit, however. Exhaust is directed towards the rear of wall units. In a window unit that completely fills the sleeve, there will be no way for the hot air to escape so it will quickly burn out.

It was last fall when I installed a Frigidaire FRA106HT1 in this kit. The back on the vehicle is too damaged. Can I take off the rear, or do I have to take out the a/c and replace it?

Although I am not sure what you are asking, if the solid cover is still in place with the AC unit installed, it must be removed. be able to vent and cannot be operated when there is a solid cover on it. In case you were wondering something different, sliding the AC out of the sleeve would accomplish your task.

The outside dimensions of the sleeves are how wide is this sleeve and how tall?

This 20 1/4 x 25 1/2 painting is on quarter paper. I wish you the best of

Should we push AC all the way back to foam strips attached to the ?

On the grille, I didn't add any foam strips. Pushing the unit forward until it hit the grille, I got it back to its original position.

Selected User Reviews For Frigidaire EA108T 18 In. Sleeve Kit for Through-the-Wall Air Conditioners

There are a lot of variables
5/5

There are no instructions for this, so my recommendation is to remove the back panel, then screw in the grill that came with your AC into the little plastic clips already in it, and into that, then install You then need to put it through the wall to the point where the AC insulated plastic frame touches the wall, and measure the depth of the frame. There is too much of the sleeve still inside the bracket and you can't use those brackets after that. Otherwise, you will have a gap between the wall unit and the frame that comes with the wall unit. There is no need to drill any holes for brackets. Just screw in 3 heavy duty wood screws where the sleeves would bolt. In this manner, the unit will sit flush against the wall and have a plastic frame around the base. If it is possible, jam in insulation through the holes, then use locktite around the end cap and the wall. You will want to slide the unit back into the sleeve, and pop on the frame around it to make it look nice against the wall. You will also want to get some wood framing for the outside wall to make it look nice, It is simply a matter of replacing the dual outlet plug with a single outlet plug, plugging it in and turning it on. If you use the L brackets that come with the sleeve, the results shown here are the result, this is the L bracket on the very last hole. You will need some kind of inch thick wood framing for the inside, or else In the other photos, the sleeve is barely inside. If it is only inside that relatively small amount, the frame and unit will look like those in Here you can see that my flimsy grille has been replaced Despite the gap between the wall sleeve and AC, the new system now fits inside seamlessly.

An overabundance Box made of metal that is dented and priced high
3/5

The product we received was damaged in one corner, and several other reviewers have had this issue as well. Packaged poorly, it did not arrive in good condition. Item was just shipped in the box it came in with no Although there was nothing wrong with it, it wasn't bad enough to demand an exchange (let's be honest If another had been dented, a new one would have been needed as well), and when you need your air conditioner installed, you NEED IT DONE If I am paying this ridiculously high price for this item, at the very least I You Amazon seller, get your act together. Now on to the price. Geez Pete's, do you think this is overpriced. Not much else is on display except for a thin, cheaply made metal box. They don't have to manufacture this for more than $30, and the price they charge is utterly outrageous, but they kinda have your neck around their neck. As a result, you don't have any other options if you need one. Does this sound like something I'd recommend? It doesn't really work that way. Is it up to the task? In short, yes. It is best to try to avoid needing one as much as.

MY ONLY GOAL IS TO WARN THE PUBLIC
3/5

This company has the following characteristics I/O devices and hardware Supplies for the garden
They will not let you return any merchandise! It was exactly what I expected of the Frigidaire product. There was nothing wrong with it, only that we couldn't get the air conditioner to cooperate. There was an out of stock situation with the first one.

The instructions are conflicting, but the product is good quality
4/5

The quality is good and the design is attractive. A specific air conditioner sleeve came with it, but there were many conflicting instructions between the instructions on the sleeve, the instructions on a single sheet addendum that came with it, and instructions on the air conditioner itself. In the end, I put the sleeve onto a workbench and slid the air conditioner in to ensure I knew where the grid was supposed to be, where the foam filler had to be, and exactly how to trim it out in the drywall.

I found it difficult to assemble
3/5

You open the parts box of the box and follow the instructions until you realize there are many pieces to assemble. Having pictures of installation is fine, but there need to be more actual pictures that show how the process is carried out. It wasn't exactly easy to put the screen on the sleeve since it came in the box. There was a mismatch in the screw holes. To drill new holes, I had to drill new ones. My only knowledge of the directions is that they are difficult to understand.

My doorstep was yet again greeted by yet another badly dented unit
3/5

I read several reviews in which people said their sleeve arrived severely So now I'm part of that crowd as well. Both ends had large dents, with one of them so bad that the rear flange is wrinkled to the point of being broken. I was absolutely blown away by the packaging. It did not appear to have been abused in any way. There is no doubt that the packaging methods for this item are The dent in the car still looks awful, despite my efforts to carefully bang it out myself. However I went ahead and installed it anyway, as I really needed my Florida Room air conditioned in time for the coming weekend when I have a guest arriving with FOUR DOGS, and I want to let them stay there rather than inside. The A/C is now installed and working, and aside from a few dents, they don't interfere with it.

This is an attractive design with a mediocre design that does not In the – Air Conditioner with Supplemental Heat, FFTH1222Q2) inexplicably did not come with a through-the-wall vent Here's the thing Rather than a screen, a wall sleeve is used
3/5

According to the recommendation, this one was the best. First, you must unzip the back of the jacket. Three of the screws holding it to the wall had come out on their own, and two of A ground wire was required to be screwed into the sleeve as the first step in installing the AC. It was explicitly stated where to place the equipment. In it, it said that it was enough to use a hole if there was one there, otherwise, it recommended drilling one (which applies I saw no hole, so I don't know where it was. It seems impossible why you would fabricate a sleeve for an air conditioner without a hole for a ground wire, when you already know you have to drill it before you use it? A mind-body connection That's quite astounding. As a result of my inadequate equipment, I had to drill a hole for about 20 minutes. As far as I was concerned, the unit should be roughly There is about four inches of extra material sticking out. It was a challenge when I first installed the sleeve, with some difficulty, and I had to take everything apart and stick it farther in (my fault for not doing a dry run. As for the sleeve itself, I think it looks pretty There was just something strange about the way it didn't match the actual unit that it was supposed to correspond to. And the price. It's ridiculous that this product costs so I would expect the cost to be $25 at best.
