Quality control is a disaster! Locks that don't work properly! The top drawer lock was broken when it arrived, and it would lock itself when the drawer was closed! After that, getting unlocked becomes nearly impossible. The key circled in circles but did not unlock! The lock latch was kept from engaging by duct tape. As a result, the lock served no purpose. There was no lock on the bottom drawer! Using a screwdriver, I disassembled the drawer and discovered unassembled lock parts inside. I was able to put the lock together by myself, though it was extremely difficult, and it worked fine. When I contacted Amazon Customer Service, they were EXTREMELY HELPFUL and sent me a replacement cabinet for free. It only took two days for it to arrive! REPLACEMENT, ON THE OTHER HAND, HAD DEFECTIVE LOCKS AS WELL! One of the drawer locks was loose and not functioning properly. The keys to the other drawer lock were missing! When I shook the empty cabinet after removing both drawers, I heard a rattling sound. After a few shakes in various positions, voila! The keys that had been missing had fallen out. They'd gotten stuck in a nook or cranny inside the cabinet. That drawer was properly locked once I found the keys. Basically, after removing one drawer from one cabinet and one from another, and putting in a lot of time and effort, I was able to combine pieces, locks, and drawers from two cabinets to create one usable cabinet and another that was not! I cannot recommend this product because of the obvious lack of quality control. If you want a locking file cabinet, look for one made by a different company. This was a complete disaster. A lock that was clearly not installed was particularly disturbing. Worse, another that had locked itself and was preventing me from accessing my belongings by opening the drawer! Fortunately, Amazon Customer Service was FANTASTIC. The product, on the other hand, is terrible in terms of lock issues, and the fact that I received two separate cabinets that were BOTH DEFECTIVE tells me to stay away from this model. Although the product was ineffective, Amazon stood behind it and quickly assisted in the resolution of the issue. Also, as another buyer mentioned, both arrived covered in dust and with hairs on them, which I'm hoping were from humans at the very least. ICK. Be careful who you buy from. 2 faulty cabinets appears to be a pattern, not a coincidence! Again, Amazon deserves praise for quickly resolving the issues; I recommend they sell these as "factory seconds" in "as is" condition for a lower price, similar to purchasing a used car. AS IS. I would strongly advise you to look at other options before purchasing this one. Aside from the unacceptably bad lock, it is sturdy and holds a lot of files, and the wheels are easy to install. I'm afraid that's all I have to say on the subject. BEWARE OF THIS PRODUCT, AS THE LOCKS WERE VERY OBVIOUSLY DEFECTIVE AND SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN SHIPPED IN THAT CONDITION. I dislike leaving negative reviews, but I feel compelled to do so in order to attract new customers. And, once again, Amazon was prompt and helpful in resolving the issue at no additional charge to me.

This is for people who do not want to spend the money on the metal cabinets but recognize that it is a well-shaped tupperware that feels like it. It comes with two keys, each of which is identical and can be used to open either lock. Those who claim otherwise must be reading a faulty copy. br>Due to a lack of wrapping, the plastic was scratched, and the edges of the handles and cabinet had uneven plastic. br>The wheels are very simple to install and simply slide in. It glides across my hardwood floor with ease. Although the drawers do not open smoothly, they are simple to operate. br>If you put heavy items in the bottom drawer, it will tip over when you open it. br>This WILL fit legal size folders and others listed in the description, but they must be inserted vertically rather than horizontally, which is what the two black plastic bars included are for. I had it in my head that the files would be sent in the opposite direction for some reason. br>Overall, I like it because I only use it at home, and I was already using a large plastic bin. br>However, I believe the true market value is around $35. I'll deal with it and keep it because it's the cheapest option.

I'm simply not going to keep anything important in the top drawer.   This was purchased in order to better organize and centralize my personal home files. Despite the fact that the cabinet was dusty and dirty (which I can understand if it came from a warehouse), the wheel assembly was simple and the box was easy to open. I assumed the drawer would be metal because I didn't read any further into the description and learned that it is made of polypropylene, so it feels flimsy, and I'm concerned that the plastic will bow with the weight of the files and paper over time. My biggest disappointment is that the top drawer key is bent and will not lock the drawer with which it corresponds. I don't understand why each drawer has a unique key. I suppose I can just keep all of my personal and important documents in the bottom drawer.

The original price was not worth it, and the key was missing. It's a fairly low-cost item. It isn't worth $50, which appears to be the price on every website. However, I needed a small, lockable cabinet to store and organize documents in my apartment and didn't want to spend a lot of money. As it turns out- It was not only inexpensive, but it also lacked a key. THE KEY HAS GONE MISSING! Doesn't exactly serve the purpose of having a lockable cabinet, does it? This is the second time I've ordered a filing cabinet that was missing parts (the first time, the handles were missing). br>br>On the plus side, Amazon customer service was quick to respond and resolve the issue, so 5 stars for that, but 1 star for the item itself. It would be a 3-star rating if the item came with everything it was supposed to come with AND was half the price. It's a four-star item because it'd be worth it at around $20-$30. ish. If it had come with all of the pieces, I would have given it two stars as it is. It is, however, a complete rip-off at $50. off, especially since it's probably been refurbished and the key is missing. sorry. It should be a lot less expensive than they're asking for it. It would be a completely different review if it were less expensive.
