It's for hanging files, and the instructions state that the drawers' bottoms aren't designed to support much weight. I recently purchased this item, which is a great value for the money: ) Also, the instructions are fantastic and very clear, with descriptions and pictures, and the bags of screws, etc. are divided and labeled by steps that correspond to the instructions.
Only the top drawer is open.

After reading some reviews, I was a little concerned. We had our instructions, all of the parts, and two hours of free time to put it together, so we were in luck. Although it is good quality for the price and looks nice, I believe it would benefit from some sort of anchor / support on thick carpet.
This file cabinet was actually found in a store, but it was sold out. We discovered this on Amazon and are very pleased with it. It's well-made, sturdy, and fits perfectly in our home office; delivery took about 6 weeks, but everything seems to be running late lately due to staffing shortages. Because everyone is dealing with staffing issues, there is no negativity directed at Amazon.
The color is lovely, and the cabinet is sturdy and well constructed. It gives my home office a touch of grace and elegance.
This product appears to be of excellent quality. Some of the pre-existing conditions, on the other hand, were still present. Drilled holes where they weren't supposed to be, making assembly a little more difficult. Each step of the process has its own bag of screws and dowels, which I like. It's impossible to get parts mixed up like that.
You may want to enlist some assistance with the assembly. This is not a job that can be completed by a single person.
The file cabinet in the photos appears to be of higher quality; however, what was sent was particle board, which was weak and unable to support the drawers when they were empty, making it unsuitable for the seller's suggested use. br>br>It's also two different colors. br>br>.
The filing cabinet is very nice. The assembly process takes a long time.
Although it is not a high-end file cabinet, it is adequate for home use. It was relatively simple to put together, and it wasn't advertised as a solid wood, heavy-duty unit. I believe it was exactly as described, and I would purchase it again.
