It appears to be an unfinished craft project; there are at least ten visible nail holes that aren't visible in the product listing, and it's scratched up and could use some sanding

Fortunately, I planned to paint it anyway, so all I have to do now is fill in the gaps with wood filler and sand paper. However, I wouldn't recommend it if you don't want to use it for a craft project.
